      Get the impression this is just the Caulker for this season mate, I wouldn't worry too much as long as Sakho doesn't get perma-banned.

      Matip/Lovren right side Gomez/Sakho left side with Lucas / Can able to cover at a push, I doubt this lad will see many minutes. Even then we have Illori / Wisdom.

      I would be happy with Illori, Wisdom of even Lucas but the signing suggests different.

      Not experienced transfers news like this before late on a Sunday night. The Klavan deal is apparently 4.2m + add-ons.

      Let's just face facts here.  The whole transfer window is a farce.  Newspapers piping up from March onwards about a gazillion players - meanwhile from nowhere LFC look set to bring someone in who I hadn't heard anyone even mention - scratch that - someone I'd never even heard of.

      I'm not as concerned with the who we get as cover at CB as I am concerned with the fact we aren't targeting an experienced LB.

      I love how amazingly random our transfer targets are at this point haha. I used to know at least slightly most of the players we were linked to under our most recent managers (from Rafa to current days), but with Klopp it's like he has a quite different knowledge base and at this stage I'm willing to just trust the guy. Feels like a Kyrgiakos kind of signing, low profile, low cost, experienced and (potentially) useful. 30 is not that old for a defender, so who knows, maybe he might even impress.
