Allen could depart to Stoke within next 48 hours.

      Echo:
The Liverpool midfielder is another who looks set to depart this summer, with The Telegraph reporting his £13m move to Stoke could be sealed within the next 48 hours.

The report claims Allen will meet with Stoke boss Mark Hughes for talks, and could join up with his new team-mates in Florida on Tuesday.

Interestingly, there is also said to be a clause in the deal, with Stoke obliged to pay more if they finish in the top 10.

Stoke medical today for young Joe. Get us; selling well instead of buying  stupidly on the back of one good performance at a major tournament.

Well it sounded good, but to be fair, I can only think of the Senegal lads as examples when I put my mind to it.

      Joe Allen.
Better than Charlie Adam, but still ended up at Stoke.

      Good luck lad.

Hopefully more players choose Stoke over the Mancs in future.

In all seriousness, I think it's a terrific signing for them. With regular games and a manager like Hughes who has confidence in his trusty Welsh CM, he will start to flourish.

Besides, £13m is pretty decent for us...I wish him all the best.

      Completed his move to Stoke.

Joe Allen completes transfer to Stoke City

Joe Allen has today completed a permanent transfer from Liverpool FC to Stoke City.

The midfielder, who joined the club from Swansea City in the summer of 2012, moves to the Premier League club after four years with the Reds.

The Wales international made his debut in an opening-day defeat at West Bromwich Albion and clocked up 37 appearances that season.

He went on to play 24 league games in 2013-14 as the team finished second to Manchester City and secured a return to Champions League football.

Last term, Allen converted the winning penalty against his new side as Liverpool reached the League Cup final, and was brought on as a substitute in the Europa League final in May – which proved his final match for the club.

In total he played 132 games and scored seven goals during his time at Anfield.

Everyone at Liverpool FC wishes Joe the best of luck in his future career.
