When you're spending 90mins on the bench in such a big game whilst Herrera, Parades and Gueye are all playing, it's probably a sign you have no future at that club and you've made a bad career decision.

PSG: We will have Herrera, Parades and Gueye and yourself. If you’re good enough, you’ll start.
Gini: I’m good enough to walk into the first team. I’m a PL champion.

Man City v PSG CL group stage round 5 and needing to qualify - on the bench for 90min.

Gini would have played for me last night he ha splayed against City many times and has the energy to really get at them. I dont care to be frank the lad made his bed and he can lye in it. Shame he didnt feel the love more because there was more than enough there for him .

It’s all about money isn’t it? Part of the transfer savings PSG had, would have gone into his bank account. There’s more money yet he doesn’t have to work a single minute on matchday. He already has a medal or two anyway and will be into retirement and loss of income pretty soon. I guess it’s the money that talks now. Not Anfield love or anything else. But I could be wrong.

Nope. It's not that I would not welcome Gini back, unlike Cuntinho he did nothing wrong, but I just think we have enough firepower in midfield. The Milan game showed that we are deep enough.

Arsenal suggested as a loan move last night on sky.

Suarez tried to go to Arsenal first then went to Barcelona, Gini tried to go to Barcelona (probably should have) then swerved them to go to PSG and now may end up at Arsenal.

Crazy...maybe he should have just stayed at LFC.

Nearly always seems to be the case, players never seem to learn ! Also I think there are far too players in the game simply for the money, rather the love of playing football.

I have nothing against Gini. I still love the man and I think he was within his rights to leave at the end of his contract if there was a disagreement on the number of years for his extension.

With that said I wouldn't take Gini back on loan. I stand by what I said before the season started; I feel like we have enough depth in the middle of the park. Unless there's an avalanche of injuries all at the same time (touching wood) then I don't see him getting more minutes with us than he is getting with PSG. I'm not willing to sacrifice Hendo or Thiago minutes for somebody who will be leaving at the end of the season. I'm also not willing to sacrifice Keita, Ox, or Morton minutes and once Eliott and Jones are back then I also would rather play them and give them experience rather than play somebody who will leave (especially with Eliott since not only was he gaining experience he was also of significant help for the team in that midfield.

All in all if you add Morton and Eliott in there we have 9 midfielders when everybody is healthy. Fab, Thiago, Hendo, Keita, Ox, Milner, Jones, Eliott and Morton

As much as I was vocal supporting Gini to continue with us, I think it would be a wrong move to re sign him long term…

I’d rather we put the energy into Bellingham..

We’ve moved on from Gini now, we won’t go back and rightly so

Bellingham though? No chance we have the money or at least will be given it

We're a strange fanbase and always seem to be toying with the idea of bringing players back.

Agree with Shabs, Bellingham is the move not brining Gini back.

I think our track record shows that we don't go for this kind of players for whom there's a potential bidding war. And I'm happy with that.

      Sentimentality.

Something that has creeped in over the 30 years without winning the league. We need to staet being more ruthless now. Gini's the past, Tyler Morton is the future, plus Hey Jude if we can afford him.

It's like getting back together with your ex...you know what you had and there's a comfortability there. But you have to remember there were reasons you parted to begin with.

Look at the stats around progressive passes per game Thiago compared with Gini that's why Thiago was brought in

I’ll be honest I never had a financial contract that needed renewing with any of my ex’s like

But yeah like with ex’s you’ll often watch or run through some highlights for 5 minutes every so often but then remember that Thiago the new girlfriend  can do things that make your toes curl and never tell Thiago your new girlfriend that you had five minutes thinking of your ex on the internet when she was at work

      But yeah… I get you..  :)
