We certainly don't miss him. Both player and the club just naturally moved away from each other and you look at a midfield now and see one that has talent in abundance. I'm glad we got all that we got from him. At £23m in summer 2016 he was a fantastic buy. One of the best pieces of business we've done as a club and he served his time well. He can rightly be called a great Liverpool player particularly for his contributions in THAT Barca game. And you can't forget his contributions in the 2016-2017 season when we just scraped into the top 4. Without that we wouldn't have had the platform to go on and win the European Cup in 2019.

Responsibility ultimately falls on the player, though. It’s the player that hires the agent knowing how he likes to operate and it’s the player who at the end of the day makes the decision. At any point Gini could have told his agent “get me the best deal we can get out of Liverpool but I don’t want to leave”

Me either. Was loved and appreciated here and a bang on starter for this team but chased the money (and fame?). He should have known from how Coutinho’s move worked out what was likely to happen.
