Last night, he had diarrhea Klopp said. What a performance for a sick player! Keep it up Gini, so delicate on the ball.

Think it was at half time I noticed him make a dash for the tunnel.

First thoughts was he has a dose of the scoots. 😂

      Fantastic performance and goal.

I agree but in fairnesss he’s very, very rarely played in anything resembling a CAM role for us mate.

He scored in one of my sweetest memories of Liverpool, the club and the city. New years eve, 31 December 2016, against Man City. I had trains booked to London and tickets to watch the fireworks, but convinced the missus - who had just arrived in the city from Brazil a couple days earlier - to stay in Liverpool so we could go to the game. And then bang, 1-0, a Gini header, in her first ever game at Anfield. She loved it. It was a freezing cold day but I'll always think fondly of it.

Why I'm talking about that, I have no idea, I guess I just wanted to say I really appreciate Gini Wijnaldum.

Its funny how you can not rate a player until he plays beside another... Think the first two name on the team sheet as far as the mid field goes should be Fab' and Gini... A total awesome midfield pairing... Add to them whom ever you like whether that be Keita,Shaqiri or Milner, but start with Fab' and Gini

Theory that Gini has been playing further back to help with the defensive side as his reading of the game is so good but now we have the midfielders like Fab and Naby, who can excel in that position we are more likely to see him as an advanced midfielder.

His skill set certainly is that of an attacking midfielder esp in making those late runs, hence why I have been slightly critical of his output but in hindsight maybe he has been in a leash to marshal the defensive side.

Love the fact no one had him in their first 11 when Keita and Fabinho were signed in the summer.

This guy took his game to the next level for club and country - now he’s one of the first names on the team sheet

Wijnaldum - Fabinho - Keita for me.

Gini playing as a No 10 for Holland 3 goals in 5 games.

Something maybe for Jürgen to consider.

I'm afraid he needs he needs to sit out the next few games. I don't know if he is tired or just not fit but has been below par for a month or two. I know finesse is a part of his game but I'm very frustrated with his soft under-hit passes. It kills the tempo of our play and invites pressure to the player he is passing to.

Turns the ball over more than he does anything good with it. Very frustrating. Good thing we have alternatives.

Was thinking Gini will start against Barca and get a man marking job on Messi.

I remember last time we went there (Craig Bellamy and JAR golf game), Alvaro Arbeloa did a brilliant job on Messi...hope Gini can do the same.

      Shut him out!

Poor old Gini, might be in line for some criticism, but that's not his game, or position.
He was there to hold it/link up and use his energy to pressure the back 5. When is a bit limited.
Jürgen is human, and though the team performance wasn't a disaster and we had plenty of chances to level the game/score, not sure this tactic with Gini really worked out that well.
