Doesn't appear that way. There's literally 6 other cats getting more game time in his position than him.

I can see where Shabs is coming from though.
Gini goes to PSG thinking he's going to play more like the role he did for Holland.
Then Messi arrives and PSG play with a front 4.
Now Gini seems surplus to requirements because PSG are only playing 2 holding midfielders behind the front 4.
      Man's getting paid though.

      Edit:
Those PSG team sheets remind me of FIFA when I'd signed too many good players and was struggling to keep them all happy with playing time.

I’m really gutted for him that he is sitting on the bench earning £160k after tax a week

That’s what happens when you chase the money

Players that seem to think they can leave us for bigger and better things or simply for a better contract rarely end up having anywhere near as much individual success and end up bouncing from club to club before long. In the last decade or so, I can’t really remember anyone other than Suarez, Masch and Alonso who actually went on to really benefit as a result of leaving.

Sure he will win trophies, it’s a near guarantee at PSG and the standard in France but he will play little part.

Gini can’t keep his mouth shut either and always has to moan. Remember when he was benched vs Barca (the very rare occasion he didn’t start), even though he came on and got 2 goals, his focus was on saying how pissed he was about not starting. Left us and he was talking a lot about us and the way he left, now he’s moaning again and he’s only been there 5 minutes. He expects to play every minute of every game regardless of his form. If he was that bothered about playing, he’d have stayed and accepted the contract that was offered to him and chance are he’d have played every minute up to this point.

People will argue he wasn’t offered what he deserved. But at the same time forgetting that large parts of last season he was absolute sh*te, games passing him by every week and at a time when we most needed him to step up with an injury hit team, he was nowhere to be seen. Maybe he was offered a contract on reflection of a decline in ability as he gets older and the expected emergence of Elliott and Jones and the level of importance to us soon expected to be reducing over the next year or 2.

Think we all knew he’d end up missing us before we missed him.

Or be exploited by owners who expect you to work below your pay grade…

I’m sure Gini will be ok.

When was Gini being exploited ?

Do you have these pay grades to hand so we can see what each player should get paid 🤷‍♂️

I love Gini and he chasing the money doesn't change that, but can't feel sorry for him with his new situation. He made that decision on his own.

Exploited is a stretch to say the very least.

He was paid very well while here.

Don’t miss him as such and as for needing him - we didn’t when Elliot was playing , he would certainly be useful right now

Seems this is Jürgen's strategy to play those leaving players as much as they can, so as to make them regret going to their new clubs playing the bit parts.

Let's face it, apart from Luis, has anyone ever left Liverpool because they wanted too and succeeded?

In addition to the above, Mascherano? 5 league titles and 2 CL after leaving us.

Not really as it's been a step down and he's won nothing

Plus we were probably ok with letting him go.

Fair enough though be wary of measuring a players success on what winner medals they collect post liverpool. Phil won 2 Spainish titles, 1 German title and UCL title since leaving though sure agree with me his post liverpool besides the winner medals hasn't been great.
