Can't wait for the inquest in to GB's state-run doping system.

F***ing 10th for us. Compounded by a horrendous call with 5 seconds on the clock to rob us of bronze in the men's basketball >:(

It has to be said though, Usain Bolt. This guy is obscene! If I was in a race, and saw him in one of the lanes, I would just bloody quit and walk out!

      The guy is simply amazing.

Training isn't the issue, mate. Need some help between the ears. So many looked excellent until there was a medal on the line and they choked.

Probably 10 gold medals went begging.

Choking isn't something that you'd expect from an Aussie athlete quite the opposite in fact they tended to perform above expectations.

:( Our gold medals were largely unexpected winners (shooting and pentathlon ??? ) and our main hopes (the Campbell sisters, Mcevoy, Mckeown in the swimming, both hockey teams) all failed.

      Bloody crap.

It's pathetic. I read another article yesterday afternoon about the French complaining about our medal haul compared to theirs...

I love seeing the repercussions of British Cycling's performance at Rio 2016 in the media, the whole Trott-Kenny couple-fantastic thing as well. Will I be able to show off in England by saying I was there when it happened? ;D I saw Trott win her 4th and Kenny his 6th gold. Oh and Sir Brad's 5th as well.

as an avid cycling fan for many years I think its not a coincidence and that the fact remains we have had success because of the clamp down on drug cheats and now we are competing on an equal basis we are just better and they really don't like it.

Laura Muir winning the Diamond League 1500m title after a race win in which she set a world lead time and took more than 2 seconds off her British record just goes to show just how bad she got her tactics in Rio even though she's in-denial about it.

It's not nice to say but her chance for gold was not in 4 years time in Tokyo...it was two weeks ago in Rio!! Aaaargh!

Different venues, different countries and all that but I looked at her 1500m winning time from Paris last week to that of the gold medalists winning time in Rio a couple of weeks back. Quite a bit faster was Muir compared to the winner in Rio in that race.
