Saints knocked out by Beer somebody,  looks like they might be trying that bit harder in the League Cup.

Alli dirty c**t. That foul was completely uncalled for and a deserved red!

Some massive performances by the Belgian teams in the EL so far. Anderlecht beat Zenit 2-0 at home last week and got a 90th minute 3-1 goal to go through to the next round earlier.

Now Gent 1-1 against Spurs after they beat the Spurs at home 1-0. Spurs now need to score twice to go through and Genk are also through to the next round as it stands. Hopefully it stays like this, would be incredible!

2-2 to Gent. Monumental effort from them. Did not fancy their chances at all when Wanyama scored but they've done brilliantly to stifle the momentum. Phenomenal effort. Strange from Tottenham.

Celta scored a last minute penalty to take it to extra time. Aspas 91st min penalty.

Just checked the teams left in Europa League, and It's considerably weaker than last season. I really think it's for Utd to lose.

Imagine what might happen if Anderlecht bother to play football now?

They've been appalling and fully deserve to go out. Playing school boy tactics and holding on for penalties for 40 mins or so... zero effort up to score. Frantic at the back, and finally Utd get the goal. Easy.

Quietly hoping Lyon will be the team to stop Utd from winning this tournament, who got through on penalties v Besiktas. Although would be quite funny if Celta Vigo did Utd with Aspas scoring ;)

Be interesting to see what the draw is for the semi's tomorrow.

Celta v Utd - time for agent Aspas to step up.

Lyon v Ajax either of those can also beat Utd in a one off.

Happy with the draw zz but obviously losing Zlatan  is a massive blow. What slim chance we had of qualifying via PL all but gone now. Certainly hinders our chance in this comp now as well which reading some of members post their more than happy to see him out for the season  :-\

I know what you mean, I'm happy he is out, but not by that type of injury.

At his age I very much doubt he'll every play again with that injury.

It is a Liverpool forum Andy and as such don't have any issues on the dislikes of United with passion. Plenty on redcafe obviously say the same about Liverpool. It is what it is. Can't see any chance of him coming back. Will United now take the option of another year on his contract?  Considering the severity of his career injury highly unlikely.

Shame the Mancs didn't get Lyon, reckon Lacazette would have ripped that feeble defence to pieces but guess Aspas will have to do that instead....just hope he isn't on corners.

Sounds stupid but the way Ibra keeps himself in a fit condition, it wouldn't surprise me if he was back playing for you next season, obviously depends on whether he's given a further contract.
