So here we go again, the start of the 2016/2017 football season 



Jürgen Klopp's first full season with Liverpool football club, absolutely imperative that we get off to a good start against the Gunners, we drew 0-0 at the Emirates last season and it wouldn't surprise me if we have another draw, although a win would be fantastic, with us having our first few games away from home, it's a tough start for the Redmen but no European football this season means we can concentrate fully on the domestic situation.

Be interesting to see who Jürgen picks for his first 11, with lots of players having played quite a few pre-season games, he should have plenty of options available to him.

Can't wait for this....seems a long time since we played at the Hawthorns  Come on you mighty REDS...let's do a 'Leicester' !!

Tricky one, Arsenal away never going to be easy, but if we can carry the momentum from the Barcelona game and play at a similar style and level I feel it will cause a shock to the already depleated Arsenal side.

Missing some of their key players Giroud, Koscielny and Ozil I feel the 3 points are there for the taking if we turn up!

Difficult to say what the starting XI will be but I fancy something like this:

Manninger; Matip, Milner?(Wisdom); Grujic, Henderson; Lallana, Sturridge

A lot depends on the fitness of Sturridge, but I would still opt for Origi regardless, the pace and pressing could shock the Arsenal defence + midfield, with some good options from the bench!


I fancy a narrow 2-1 win, I feel like we will be on top for most of the game and have a good few chances to score but don't fancy a rout here.
3 points would be huge for our confidence, come on red men!

Fantastic to have a pre match thread again for a competitive game. Can't. F***ing. Wait.

The first couple of games are all about who is fitter so we should come out on top there no problem. I think Arsenal are missing a few key players which obviously helps us too.  Would take a draw now but there is no better time than to get this fixture out of the way, go for the 3 points lads.
