Classic punt on the Graeme Kelly news who actually seems confident and a lot more reputable than this muppet. Kelly actually reported a lot of this months ago to be fair to him and it does appear to have some legs this one:

I know Graeme Kelly isn't a bullshitter (he got the Rodgers sacking spot on and then all but confirmed the Klopp appointment only hours after Brendan had left) and I've read what he said on Twitter regarding investment, but did he say anything in the months preceding?

Yeah mate he reported this investment from China months ago, I haven't got the links to it now but basically most of those tweets above from his account are retweeted from months ago.

So if you put stock in what he says, which I also do, then this does appear to be a little more than a smokescreen, but I guess as ever time will tell.

Better be true or they will switch attention to another PL club.

I agree with previous comments that there are a lot of things pointing towards a sale of the club, ie the net negative spend in the transfer market, lowering of overall wage bill, getting rid of Ayre (well in a year's time anyway), securing Klopp to a long term contract etc etc.
All I can say is bring it on, it's about time we stop being the poor relations, as a fan of many years I want to be back competing at the very top again.
Oh and even if this particular sale doesn't happen I really do think its a matter of when and not if, we are far to big a club internationally not to be snapped up.

Probably, they're an investment company and id hazard a guess that they won't want to look like they've failed in their attempt even if they have.

Jonathan Northcroft on twitter states that this should be taken with a pinch of salt. It's easy to think of press briefings in the context of our freedoms of speech, but China obviously doesn't have a free press so anything that is said by a state owned company is not going to be questioned.

He goes on saying that where a large Chinese conglomerate, where one part doesn't know what the other part is doing, is not unusual in China. Also, if the Chinese state is to invest, it doesn't necessarily have to be Everbright.
