What does everyone think of Matip so far? he hasn't had much to do. He has been tidy enough but I haven't seen him win many aerial battles, I'd like to see him dominate in the air. Can has brought a bit of solidity and shape to the midfield although it looks like he might have another pound or two to shift from the summer binge? I don't know if it's just me but he always looks slightly overweight. Mane has been a class above in that first 30 minutes and Milner has really impressed going forwards

Who would your preferred front 3 be JD?

On the basis of so far this season probably have to be Coutinho, Origi and Mane

I would like to see us try a front two with Studge and Mane sometime. Not quite Suarez but I think Mane could draw players to him and make space for Studge.

I like him a lot and with regards his aerial dominance, I haven't seen much needing winning in this match but he is dominant from what I've seen in the past.

We'll maybe see later... my guess is that he will fit into it with ease, especially if he's used in the middle.

Hopefully although with Origi up to full speed he just doesn't look as flexible an option or nearly as fluid. Such a contast always makes me quite paranoid that he no longer looks as quick as he did compared to three years ago. Unlike most in the squad though, with the ball at his feet in and around the penalty box he can do anything with the ball and conjure up a goal from very little. Individually, I don't think there are any better than Studge in this squad but for empowering those players around him I think Origi offers more.

Can looks rusty, but the midfield seems much more balanced with him in the middle of the 3 instead of Henderson. Jordan much better as one of the box to box midfielders too.

Easy to look more balanced and controlled against a team like Burton, but I do think once Cans up to match fitness we'll see him in the middle of the three in the big games rather than Hendo.

Yeah, there is no doubt Klopp likes Can, so he will be a starter in the #6 role. I just hope he can improve on his passing and awareness.

Anyway, we looked balanced, but as you mentioned, vs a far lesser side, so we shouldn't really get carried away and just enjoy it!

Matip has looked pretty calm and composed which is exactly what we have been missing since Agger. Early days but he looks the business even bringing the ball out like Danny.

He's always impressed me with his running walt - creates a lot of space for him and others round him.

Shocking touch from a great pass by Clyne. Lallana could have taken that in his stride and just slotted it home.

McFadzean sounds like one of those failed Anglicised names the Japanese developers from the earlier Pro Evolution games would include in one of their unofficial squads.

      Merseyside Reds all the way!

We're looking just a little sloppy at times. Clyne slicing a clearance for a corner off his right foot instead of simply swinging his left foot at it, numerous misplaced passes, severe lack of communication, taking our lead for granted and taking our foot off the gas. This sh*t needs to stop.
