Think fullback will be one of the top priorities for Pep next season. Both sides.

Sagna, Zabaleta, Clichy, Kolarov - all past their best, over 30 years of age, probably in high salaries.

If they can move some of them on and bring some fresh talent, I'm sure they'll do it.

Without a shadow of a doubt. Your talking 5-8 years ago when they were all in their peaks and in all honesty I'd say only Zabaleta is the standout of those players.

Something impressive about this Monaco side so far but let's hope they aren't as naive as they were in the last 15 minutes of the first leg 3 weeks ago. Doing well in Ligue 1, great young players.

What I like about Monaco is not just their technique and passing, but they are a tall team. They look powerful in midfield.

Hard to believe a British team is getting bullied physically in a European match.

Their recruitment has been spot on most of the time. Sold a lot of star players but brought in suitable replacements.

      Some examples:

      James Rodriguez <> Bernardo Silva
      Abdennour <> Jemerson
      Kurzawa <> Mendy
      Martial <> Lemar
      Kondogbia <> Fabinho

You can tell this is Monaco side are a TEAM! Got a nice balance - tactically disciplined while not sacrificing creativity on the ball...so far!

Anyone else very impressed with this left back Mendy? Could be a great long term solution for us if he's as good as he's looked tonight.

So near for Man City! I think the only way to get past Fabinho is to do just that - knock a ball over the top because they're just not getting through enough on the ground with Fabinho roaming that area.

Yes been very impressed with him this season

Also Monaco have signed another young left back this season (Jorge, from Flamengo) - perhaps preparing for the inevitable moment they're gonna lose him?

Looks good to me, at least on tonights showing - although Sterling did just get past him for the goal.

Jorge - he's one I always try on the recent football managers, he's amazing on there!! ;D

Jorge is a good young player, saw him live quite a few times. Youth product from my club in Brazil.

He's probably not quite 100% ready for that level but I'm glad he's gone to a club that is famous for nurturing young talent. Hope he has a great career.

That is a great victory for Monaco! So disciplined off the ball and so ruthless on it. Fabinho is a superb DM. No doubt that they won this tie even though the English press will bang on about Man City losing it because of Pep's 'foreign tactics'. Full credit to Monaco - brilliant victory.

It isn't, though. Prehistoric and stupid rule.

Unless there are Mancs on the wrong end of it, obviously.

      Borussia Dortmund vs Monaco
      Juventus vs Barcelona
      Atletico Madrid vs Leicester
      Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid

I predict Dortmund, Barca, Atletico and Bayern to go through!

5 English teams can get into the CL on condition that one of Man Utd or Leicester win their European competition. If both win then isn't that the condition that takes 4th place away?

      Is right....

      http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpools-nightmare-scenario-fourth-not-12754693

So if Mancs win Europa, and LC were somehow able to luck their way to winning the CL, then the 4th place team would be screwed out of a spot.

That is a brilliant draw for the CL. Would have preferred the two Madrids to swap but its still very intriguing.

Dortmund vs Monaco - How many goals will you predict? That will be great for the neutrals.

I think for Leicester its not a good draw for them, as they will come up against a negative team who don't concede many opportunities and goals. I would have fancied them against Monaco.

Wow 😳 Intersting stat. I never realised that. 99% would say Leicester couldn't of won the Premiership pre season, unless you were a Leicester fan.  ;D 99.9%  will also say Leicester can't win Champions League. Interesting few weeks ahead  :D

My money will be Atletico, really can't see them getting past them. Atletico have been consistently competing with Madrid and Barca for a few years now and are becoming familiar with reaching the latter stages of the Champions League
