Just having a look through the stats - since FSG arrived 27 'senior-ish' players have arrived AND left.  They spent £192M on them and got £185M back.

Obviously boosted by Suarez but they've been pretty cost neutral on the players who have come and gone under them.

Just a quick look at the total numbers since October 2010

      Transfer fees paid = £472M
      Transfer fees recouped = £345M

      Total 'spent' since October 2010 = £127M.

£21M a season average or £10M per transfer window.

That's an insult to the dog comparing it to Harry Redknapp.

Same old sh*t then? Haven't paid attention because I knew we'd do nothing despite left back being an issue for quite some time. Really don't understand the lack of movement with the squad depth as it is as well. Oh well, another exciting season ahead.

And to think they had the nerve to give an interview and tell us we can compete with anyone , little wonder we've won fck all , well just going to have to hope Klopp is as good as I think he is , because he going to have to be to get us winning at this rate .

Klopp seems to rate Milner and Moreno good enough to get us to Top 4 - I can't believe he will be looking at anything less than that as any thing other than a failure.

Bloody hell. That's not even David Moores level spending that. And when you consider the inflation that has occurred since Moores sold Liverpool...

I think he knows he can't win the title, but he also knows the talent is there to push for a CL spot. I think he knows he has all the players and just needs time to develop them more and more into his system. And that's a good thing. Fans want spectacular signings, big names, but those big names do not automatically transfer to good football just by having some reputation. Ask Balotelli. It's more important to develop its own players and develop a team as a whole. That is how he made Dortmund great with 50% of what Bayern had available. And therefore he's the right guy for Liverpool, because we won't have the financial power of Manure or City, we need a guy that can make gold out of iron, Manure or City need coaches that can make gold out of silver.

I don't believe all your problems are solved by simply spending money on players - but let's see how Chelsea (£91M) and both Manchester clubs (about £150M each) get on compared to us who have banked a profit this summer.

I couldn't imagine Mourinho electing to retrain Schweinsteiger as a left back when he could erm, go and buy a left-back, for example.

I hope we're all smiling at the end of the season - I hope we're all pissing our pants about how much everyone else wasted whilst we romp home 20 points clear - but I'm getting more than a little frustrated with the 9th richest football club in the world trying to pretend to be the 900th.

Liverpool want to be the most clever football club in the world off the field while I, and probably you, want them to be the best on it.

Great to clear out the cupboards, time to get to work with whats left.

Personally think we're going to find it tough this season. The lack of a specialist DM and LB will cost us points, and those areas of the pitch will be targetted by the opposition. Letting Smith go looks crazy now - I always liked the look of him too.

      Hope I'm just being pessimistic.

Honest question, what happens if Juergen doesn't get top 4 with no Europe this season?

Think a lot forget how dead in the water English football was before Sky, Glasgow Rangers ffs used to poach England's best players in the late 80s early 90s before SKY

Apart from being complicit in the rising of ticket prices and the expensive nature it is to watch it on tv nowadays, in the process keeping out the working classes who made and propped up the game for decades before. That wrinkly old, scheming, law breaking, phone hacking, Scum owning old scrote Murdoch can kiss my arse!

i dont think wanting a left footed left back is asking for too much from fans ;D
