This transfer window is so fu**ed up. £15m for a nobody from the Championship yet Balo goes on a free. I know he's not the greatest of players but he's a damn sight better than the guy Villa just bought.

Markovic edging towards Anfield exit

Liverpool's Lazar Markovic could complete a loan move to Sporting Lisbon before the transfer window closes.

The 22-year-old Serbian, who joined Liverpool from Benfica for £20m in July 2014, has struggled for opportunities at Anfield and spent last season on loan at Fenerbahce.

Sporting wanted to sign Markovic on a permanent deal earlier this summer but he had no desire to return to Portugal - but he has now had a change of heart and a loan move is on the cards as he accepts his future is away from Anfield.

Never scored that many in a season during his whole career, and if he does so, probably half of them will be penalties!

To be honest, I'm still baffled at how caught up in that one.

In my head Balotelli ran at people and committed players. I had barely seen anything other than his City sub appearances, highlights and Euro 2012.

I couldn't believe the lad who I ended up seeing play for us. I had no idea what he 'actually' played like when you take away the hype.

Everyone reporting that Mama will be in the stands all season if he doesn't take the hint, not even a substitute role for him as it stands at the moment. Club fuming with him hanging around  apparently.

Shows how bad his reputation is now. He is just obviously so unprofessional nobody will pay for him.
Its a shame cos, although most people now won't see it, he is a talent. You could see it in certain wee touches, even for us. Shame to see it go to waste.
