      19 games in...pleasent reading stats
      Nov 06, 2007 11:31:06 pm
I love stats & true they never tell the whole story.

They don't show the passion or luck or the bad calls or the lack of support or...pay my mortgage.

But I thought that you would like to see some interesting & admittedly happy looking stats for this season so far...

...including tonights bit of history & the two CL Q games against Toulouse:

      Played: 19 games

      Won: 10 :)...just over 50%
      Drawn: 7
      Lost: 2..yes just 2! ;D

Goals for: 38 ;D 2 goals per game avg.
Goals against: 13 1 goal ever 2.92 games avg. :)

Clean Sheets: 9 :)...just under 50%

Our season looks to be fairly reasonable so far...how can you not agree? :o

A member of the positive club - good post.

We're all high on happiness tonight, and if you take a look at the stats it doesn't look bad at all.  In fact it looks quite good.

Only two of the Premiership 'draws' have really got my goat - Birmingham and Spurs.  We haven't had a defeat in the league to moan about yet however.

Realistically we have only really lost out on those 4 points and those points would have us right up at the top.

Besiktas away was unlucky I thought but yeah we were completely awful against Marseille - and what was the score ? 0-1.  Hardly a terrible season.

      Keep the faith.

What about the 2 points we lost on "Robbed by Rob Styles" day...

They were the worst points dropped so far, to be fair to the team they were 'robbed' of 2 pts. Chelsea had 1 shot all game?

I've sort of balanced that by our victory at Goodison.

      Cancel each other out.

talking about draws, Portsmouth was another pain. But 6 points shy of the top spot is not a bad place to be. I bet the Turks went to Anfield thinking they were going to pull another stunt. 'The ants got crushed with a hammer'. Porto beware!

I dont see any reason why we cant improve on our recent dodgy form.

We got players returning from injury, no losses in the league and now we have confidence to attack.......Im pretty sure we'll turn some (hopefully ALL) of these draws into wins.

Keep winning is the only way to close the gap with the leader, draw match = unbeaten, but drop point!

dont mind a draw if the teams above us start to lose games i see man city losing more games and seriously think arsenal will lose a game before us but 10 drawn games in the prem is probably 3 too many.

No-one seems to be complaining about rotation anymore as well, now that we are winning games.

Are we rotating much?  We seem to have a pretty settled squad from which the team is being selected.  It might be different when Xabi, Agger and Finnan are fit again.  Still think it was a mistake to rest Torres for the Birmingham game but we can only look forward now and I agree things are looking good.

I don't think it is as much as before, but I still think we are rotating although that might be due to recent injuries and players not being match fit.
