2 points off the top after 8 games and playing Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea (away) and the 'champions' and United at home.  Suppose it'll do for now.

Exactly how you gotta look at it, when the fixture list was released I have to be honest, I wouldn't have expected us to be a games result away from topping the table.

We lost 2 of the 3 cogs in midfield and it had an impact. Take Busquets + Iniesta, Kroos + Modric away from their respective sides and it will have an effect. Ultimately I'm not too perturbed by the result, no ground lost really

      All in all, pretty sloppy

Henderson is not a forward thinking player, Can looks too immobile for our system, I think Studge will be sold in the summer, and Karius is not the answer to our goalkeeping problems.

Even though we missed Lallana and Wijnaldum, I think we bottled it tonight. We looked a bit edgy apart from 20 minutes in the second half.

2 points dropped but moving in the right direction

EDIT: That said, we've picked up 8 points from Utd, Spurs away, Chelsea away and Arsenal away

Maureen did what he did when Chelsea came at the end of 2013/14 and killed the game with negative tactics.

At least this time we didn't lose. Progress of sorts.
It was a fair result because we weren't good enough to break them down, in fact we looked as if we made bloody hard work of the simplest things in that game.  Strange one to watch.  Think we'd have won but for Bailly's last ditch tackle on Firmino.

One positive for me, I watched a Spanish stream with commentary in Spanish so I was spared the turgid tones of Tyler and the noxious numptiness of Neville.  Thank F*ck.

Clean sheet. Should've won. Moving on.

They spent all that money to become an expensive West Brom :lmao:

2 points off the top at this point of the season. I'll take that!

Urk, that was painful. All the build up, result was complete anti-climax. Neither side good, we shaded it on chances, but can't say we deserved to win it. Maureen knows how to park a bus and frustrate, we just didn't have enough about us to breakthrough. Studge was v quiet, maybe could've changed him off sooner. Firmino looked slow, specially that chance were Smalling made up yards to get a tackle in. Cou probably my MOTM. Karius a bit of a concern too - though at least we kept the clean sheet :) One to forget and move on...

A draw is par for the course. It's not great but its not bad.

The fact that United - the most expensively assembled squad in history - played like that, and the fact we were well off it (Sturridge was appalling) doesn't make it that bad.

Pundits asking whether we can play against teams that are deep. I think we can, but just not with Sturridge I'm afraid. Can didn't do anyone any favours either.

You reckon Jürgen got it wrong by bringing on the subs he did, for the players he took off, then Robbie?

I thought he should have tried something different. Origi comes on last 5-10 minutes (although I was shouting for him for last 25 minutes). I also think Henderson was poor in thus game and it seemed almost like last season, i.e. back pass, side pass, etc.

It's the England effect isn't it.
Sturridge and Hendo look absolutely awful. It's as if 2 weeks with the national team had made them forget how to play football.
      F***ing hate these international breaks.

He can thank Zlatan`s sloppy finishing for that.

So Karius is sh*t - because he didn't concede, didn't make a costly mistake - all because Zlatan didn't threaten him with an attempt at goal :lmao: That's comical bullshit!

Not going to complain about the result, would have been good to get the win of course and I think in the end we did enough to get the win but De Gea saves their arse again.

They offered absolutely nothing mate.  It's fabulous to see how pathetic they've become.

We can forget about them till January now, whilst we forge our own path.

Let's hope so. Mournyho has made watching football so boring. As you say we only have to put up with them for one other match.

If the ref was impartial,  at least three Mancs would have been on yellows first half, and reds second half.
Not great from us but they certainly promoted the ethic of anti football

When Can is poor he is wretched. Said when he first came doesnt look fit and with no matches for a while even worse. Karius needs to sharpen up does not impress. Out of a poor bunch Hendo MOM never shirked and didnt waste as many balls as rest thats all I can say .

Can't argue with the result really. All though both set of fans wanted the win I thought a draw was the right result.

Well, you wouldn't would you? I am sure you will be out celebrating the draw against Liverpool.

      Speaking of  jose'e tactics
Herrera just confirmed on sky , this is the way the manager wants us to play(park the bus) in big matches
they are over the moon with the result
remove deGea from this lot and they will be lower in the table
      Karius looked shaky
      in my opinion

We looked a lot better after Lallana came on - not sure why but we did.  2 points off the top after 8 games and playing Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea (away) and the 'champions' and United at home.  Suppose it'll do for now.

We looked rejuvenated the moment he came on didn't we, first and foremost he is without doubt the leader of our pressing game, he generally pulls the trigger and the others follow and also, as sad as it is to say it Firmino looked more effective up there than Studge, even Mane suddenly came into the game having previously not seem much of the ball.

I'm happy enough with the draw considering how poor we were in the first half. We've had by far the toughest opening 8 fixtures of the top clubs so two points off of top spot is superb. Just got to keep putting away the so called lesser sides, that's the key to it all.

Also nice to get a clean sheet, even if our new keeper makes Mignolet look like Ray Clemence.

      First half they were better.

      Second half we were better.

Let's never have an international break before a Liverpool United game again.

Simple fact that Sturridge done jack sh*t up top and Adam come on willing to move a bit.

Brought us back to 11 vs 11

Can was much better in the 2nd half, much much better! Was keeping the ball better, playing better passes, defending better and got forward more. Unlucky not to score too

I think part of our problem today was Mane. After such a terrific start of the season, he seems to have dropped his form a bit in the last 2 games. Didn't seem as eager to take on defenders today.

Karius is not the answer to our goalkeeping problems.

23 years old 4 matches into wearing the shirt and playing in the biggest match yet and he is not the answer.

      Amazing insight and analysis.
