Liverpool 2-0 Sunderland: In game and Post Match discussion

Anfield waiting to unleash the Beast

      https://twitter.com/LFC/status/802509082976337922

You can help, by raising awareness through rainbowlaces

Starting XI: Karius, Clyne, Matip, Lovren, Milner, Henderson, Can, Wijnaldum, Mane, Firmino, Coutinho.

Subs: Mignolet, Ejaria, Klavan, Lucas, Woodburn, Moreno, Origi

Liverpool have named an unchanged line-up for this afternoon’s Premier League encounter with Sunderland at Anfield.

The Reds field the same team that took to the field against Southampton at St Mary’s one week ago, with Emre Can and Georginio Wijnaldum retaining their berths to partner Jordan Henderson in midfield.

Daniel Sturridge is not included in the matchday squad due to a tight calf.

Meanwhile, there are places on the bench for Academy prospects Ben Woodburn and Ovie Ejaria.

PS. Please Liverpool can you give a late lucky birthday parent.

Delighted for Woodburn. Bet he's buzzin about being on the bench. Pretty much the line up I expected with Sturridge & Lallana being injured.

Woohoo!!!!   Ben Woodburn on the bench.  Oh how I want us to be smashing them so he gets the chance of getting on the pitch at some time  ;D

Yep was just about to say the same about Woodburn mate.

As for the team selection I was expecting a few changes from what has been rumoured. I'm happy to see that line-up and while I do think our midfield lacks that proper link that Lallana provides, which I think could hurt us against bus parkers I still expect us to run out comfortable winners on seeing that.

Just when the opportunity possibly presents itself for Sturridge...

      'tight calf'.

      God sake.

Great to see young Ben and Ovie on the bench, as one chapter closes on another Anfield legend, we could be witnessing the start of another in young Ben, no pressure then, he's a special talent this lad just hope he develops into a star in his own right,

Can only see a very convincing hammering for the mighty Reds today, I predicted 5-0 in the prediction league but that could the HT score, I imagine the lads will be chomping at the bit so we could see a cricket score,

Let's be honest here, black cats are sh*te even at full strength so don't expect any resistance from them whatsoever, that Bog-Eyed wankstain Moyes has never won at Anfield and he ain't winning here today.

5-0 Mighty Redmen but it could be 6,7,8,9, ........??

Stevie g at the match today it seems :) watching this on sportsnet, think it's the first time I've ever seen this channel... Oh apparently it's an Ontario channel- strange and very specific with the location ;D. I really want us to smash these, gollum reappearing like a burp after some dodgy smokey bacon crisps is something I could do without.

This is why we bought Wijnaldum, right? The majority of us expected him to play that role that links midfield and attack, so lets hope he steps up today!

Thought Wijnaldum was bought for DM mostly. Can playing a sort of Gerrard role floating through the midfield.
