Lucas Leiva: Inter Milan keen on loan move for Liverpool midfielder

Inter Milan are keen to sign Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva on loan for the remainder of the season.

No deal has been agreed yet but the Italian side want to bolster their squad before they resume after their winter break on 8 January.

Lucas, 29, is not Inter's only option but club sources have indicated there is a "strong possibility" of the move going through.

The Brazilian is Liverpool's longest-serving player.

Lucas joined Liverpool from Brazilian side Gremio in 2007 and has been capped 24 times by his country.

He has played 324 games in all competitions for the Anfield side but has started only three games in the Premier League this season.

Is right mate, wouldn't loan them slippery fuckers last week's Echo; apart from the obvious that the lad can still do a job for us.

Gomez - just recovering.

Lovren - misses the odd game every 5/6 weeks.

Matip - some debate over whether his ankle is going to be a recurring problem.

Sakho - toast.


Even Klavan has missed games through injury.

I'm no fan of Lucas in our central defence but I'm not totally convinced we will avoid problems further down the line.  Wouldn't risk the loan myself.

I think we should keep Lucas to the end of the season at least.The lad has not been an ounce of trouble while he has been our player,he has shown loyalty to us so we should return that loyalty
 As regarding loaning him to an Italian club we only have to look at past dealings to know the tw*ts take us for a ride every time we deal with them.

I wouldn't really be to bothered if we did let Lucas go but I don't like idea of a loan deal, it isn't like we are trying to get rid of him. Either pay up or move on

Would be sad to see Lucas leave but angry for him to depart in a loan, especially to an Italian club.
Feel leiva has a few great years left in the tank in a slower league or a few good ones if he was to remain at anfield.
Been one of my fav players over the last decade. Great example on and off the pitch.

Silly to let him go. We need to have some depth to the team with some experience, especially as the cup games could be coming up on a regular basis too.

Swap deal with who? There isn't anyone I would want from that team.

I think it would be silly to let him go BUT out of respect to the player (and let's be honest he has earned it in spades) I would sell if a solid offer came in and he wanted to go. He is too good to be sitting on the bench IMHO and footballers want to play. I'd be very sad though, he has been a model professional and a terrific servant to the club and I always have confidence when he is asked to do a job at LFC.

We've had a Lucas transfer rumor in almost every window. But he's still here. What does that say about those rumors?
