Good assessment Beer, mate.  Happy New Year to one and all.  Couldn't be happier right now, and I'd rather be us than Chelski.
More of the same for '17!

      Happy new year mate.

And can we now stop all of that ridiculous talk of us NOT winning the league ;)

Haha, long way to go man! How we go tomorrow, then games against United away and Chelsea at home will give us an indication of what we are challenging for. No Mane, so my hope is that Klopp turns to Sturridge to fill the void.

Can't stop coming back on here, F***ing made up with that. Can't begin to imagine what my new year would be like if we'd lost or even drawn.

We are one way or another, dishing out some serious sh*t !

Think I'll sleep between matches now, and get my missus to wake me up 1/2 hour before kick off !
Can't wait for Sunderland and Golum😄

Was pleased to see that my MOTM  , Milner  , was specially featured after the game on Match of the Day last night.

He had  Sterling in his pocket  and the sublime cross he put in for Bobby ...  was a vintage Gerrard exocet.

Didn't see the game, but caught the highlights on motd. Did we really only have 5 shots? Must have been a poor game. Brilliant result though and if we beat Sunderland (a banker) and the Scum it sets up a cracker at Anfield against Chelsea.

Reflecting on yesterday I'm putting yesterday's performance as one of the best of the season,
Over the piece the so called experts have given praise when deserved some reluctantly so, but most have commented on how we are vulnerable at the back, we won't sustain the level of fitness the whole season,  other teams will suss us out, we can't get around the bus parkers, we won't live without this player or that,  our keepers are not up to it, we will fail, we won't make the top six, we've stolen too many hub caps,  our perms are turning grey, and we're not f***in calming down, etc etc,

Well suck it up buttercup and carry on with your sh*te coz have a wee look at what's going on at L4,

In little over 14 months Herr Jürgen Norbert Klopp has turned what once was a 'Group' of under performing 'doubters' into a squad of title challenging 'believers', you see,  we fans although passionate knew deep down we were never really at the races trying to compete with the so called big boys of, Citeh,  Chavs,  Munts,  Arse especially financially,
Pitchside tho we held our own but still fell way short of what is expected,  has been thus so for many years,
Recently tho since October '15' the tectonic plates of the EPL have shifted, since Kaiser Klopp & Buvac the brain took over LFC, like the Phoenix are slowly rising from the ashes,

Yesterday we proved that we can prevail in any situation,  we weren't at our best yesterday although we did boss the first half, and in reality should have been 2 or 3 up, It didn't matter what Citeh threw at us we were prepped to cope with whatever,

With Aguero,  Kdb, Silva,  greedy bollocks, none of them made any sort of impact because Klopp & Buvac set us up perfectly,

We can be winning a game,  we could be losing a game,  drawing even, whatever, we will find a way to win more often than not,

We have flair when we want it, we have full throttle football when we want it, we have backs to the wall football when required (very rare) and we like yesterday have grind out a result football,  winning ugly football another string to our bow,

It's absolutely fantastic being a Red right now,  sit down and think how far we've came in 14 months,  we haven't won sh*t YET, but we will, it's only a matter of time,  who's 'Doubting ' us now??

Not sure how many shots we had but that number wouldn't surprise me. We had numerous opportunities to score goals though that we failed to capitalise on for different reasons: Firmino with a bad touch from that amazing pass from Milner, Lallana being slightly offside after a delayed pass from Firmino and then Origi(?) making the wrong pass when we were 3 on 1 running at their goal. The shots tally definitely doesn't tell the full story but it was a poor game.

Lots of whining on the blue moon forum (need better targets, useless players, we were for the taking etc.). They couldn't break us down, so a good match as far as I'm concerned. And more importantly we scored and they didn't.

Top post mate, and something for a lot of fans to take on board and embrace. Stood in the bogs in the supporters club and three fellas saying about how we won't win f**k all because of things like the Bournemouth result. People need to understand that we will lose games, sometimes against lesser opposition, in bizarre fashion, it happens in football, a lot.
What we have at the moment is not necessarily the best squad or the most skilful players, but players who have bought into what the manager wants, players have improved ten fold, Lallana and Lovren to name but 2. In fact Lallana has become integral to all that we do and has been involved in more goals than anybody else in Europe, a fantastic stat for somebody who struggled under the previous regime.

Bright things ahead indeed, but with regards to yesterday, I don't buy into it being a poor game. I think some poor refereeing decisions slowed down a game which had the potential to be a classic. But how often do those games which are played up reach those heights.

In the end, despite the lack of clear shots on goal by any side, the game was hard fought with lots of huff and puff but with eventually two attacking sides cancelling each other out.

A massive 3 points yesterday and if you had told me in August we would be sitting 6 points off top in second I would have said you were deluded, but we are, and we have beaten Arsenal, Chelsea, and Citeh, drawn with spuds and the mancs. Not too shabby to be fair, so for fucks sake stop looking back at Bournemouth and look at what's coming as we walk up that hill!

p.s crowd were boss yesterday. Was in the Kop for a change and left hoarse!

Just watched the game again, and as usual you see things you miss first time around.
Apart from three half chances, City created f**k all in the last third.
Have they become poor players, or a poor side overnight.
      Not a chance.
We bossed them in midfield, for all the possession they had, and we bossed them defensively.
It was a cold calculated performance where we matched and bettered everything they tried to create.
DeBruyne looked like a beaten man. Seems all his self belief had drained out of him, and that was around 60 mins.
Think that gradually spread through their side and they seemed to concede, all their running and effort was always gonna be futile.
Fair play to them for keeping going, but they knew they were outclassed by our resolute defending and work rate. Only ever gonna be one winner after about the 50 mins mark.

Just woke after an absolutely awesome night celebrating New Year in Madrid and first thing I had to do was read this thread !

What a testament to the progress we've made in the past 14 months that we can go up against the likes of Aguero, De Bruyne, Silva etc. and boss a game with players acquired for a fraction of the cost and half the amount of time to learn each others' games.

Particularly pleased to hear that Gini did so well, a signing I was quite skeptical of in the summer but who is proving to be a very intelligent addition to the team. Milner... What can you say? Tearing it up and that would have sounded ridiculous not so long ago.

      Chuffed to bits.

Happy New Year one and all !

Great performance and you felt that we could always step it up aswell, whereas City just didn't seem to have any idea how to play us.

Make no mistake, City are a good team and we made them look very very average.

Big thing I enjoy of the match yesterday was even though Citeh controlled the game from 60-80 minute range the last 10 plus injury we were able to control it and see the game out in pretty good ease by keeping the ball in their end through good passing and tough battling on 1v1 situations.

The result was great but what a turgid performance. Awful passing , no incisive attacking play ( apart from the goal ) a couple of players not turning up , letting city back into the game .

Can seems to think he has all the time in the world on the ball  and Clyne was poor again once in possession . We still need a couple of class signings to take the team forward. The midfield is still not a force.

Still , look at the table and it's not too bad but let's not get carried away. Ultimately this team will come up short so it's what we do in the summer that will determine a league win next season. We are still making progress but the flaws in our team now will cost us this season.

Have you nothing better to be doing on new year?

Fact is we either beat your shower a few weeks back in the last minite or we knocked you out of Europe last season.

This is a good team under a great manager. Heres to more years of your futile wummery.
