Extra strength in midfield is no bad thing, Bobby in the false 9 with Lallana & Mane supporting, Hendo, Can and Gini to nullify their mids,
Can see us scoring and being in their faces, then change it around late on, probably Divock to run at tired legs,

Very surprised to see Can in and no Origi or even Sturridge.

I suspect Klopp wants us to be a little bit more aggressive in pressing higher up than usual.

Have to say Man City would be delighted seeing that lineup to play against. Straight away they are comfortable at the back and ready to attack.. so hoping the tactic works. Clearly, the plan is to have the lads swarm them with quick movement and attacking play - but if that doesn't work, we will struggle to make a threat up front.

How do you work that? With our 3 best pressers high up the pitch?

Firmino is far better in the false 9 than he is wide so I've no bother with it. I'd like to have seen Sturridge start myself, but he's probably not 100%.

Easy mate. If you're a defender, you'd be delighted to see Sturridge and Origi on the bench. Similar to how our lads would feel if Aguero was waiting to come on.

Reality is, Firmino has been awful lately, and sure when he was on form we were unstoppable going forward in this formation.. but it's relying on Firmino to decide this is a big enough game for him. Hope it works. Plan B won't come in to play until 60 mins so, if this doesn't work well, we will struggle.

We're not relying solely on one striker, we have been scoring from all angles, Mane, Lallana especially, city rely on Kun with De Bruyen their best player this season, keep those two quiet it's hard to see where they threaten??

Extra body in midfield is gonna stiffle their service forward somewhat, if only Can can keep going for 90 without flagging!
We need to be careful with our high press, with their long ball over the top. We're not blessed with lightning pace at the back.
Migs will need to be ready for the sweeper role ala Clemence.
If it's not going well, need to get Origi or Studge on earlyish.
Having said that, got every confidence in the boss to get it right!

Don't know how you work that one out lad, the 3 up top have scored more than those on the bench.

You need to stop looking at Liverpool FC starting 11 as a traditional set up, we don't need a "typical" striker to win games and who better to come on if we do need goals than those 2  ;)

Sure we'd prefer Kun on the bench he's their most dangerous goal scorer.

Almost goes without saying that he will score against us too.

Options up top off the bench not a bad thing . Prefer Lallana further back but at same time he sees them 3 to press their back 4 there are mistakes in them through overplaying (Stones) and positional sense ( Otanendi and Kolorov)  come on Reds lets do this

Other observation, will we get enough forward quality balls from Gino, Can, Hendo in the middle ?
And can Jimmy, around the halfway line, fire one F***ing huge tackle into the runt Sterling. 2nd minute be fine😉

That team is Quite a shrewd move by Jürgen imho,we do have goal scorers in the team Jürgen has picked & im sure they will do just that.

Agree, fancy Origi on around 65 to hassle city's tiring back 4, possibly even Lucas to tighten at the back depending on score, might see Studge in a cameo

Note;  You know your getting old when you see Gerrard & Owen together as studio guests, !!
