Lets hope this is a less of a culling year.

Singer-songwriter Peter Sarstedt dies aged 75.  May not mean much to the majority of you, but I love this song from my childhood.

Just read the news about Graham Taylor. How sad and unexpected. Was too young to really remember him as a manager bar the tail end of his career with Villa but I knew him more as a commentator for 5 Live and I don't ever remember him being anything but decent, balanced and insightful. Dignified with not an ounce of ignorance or arrogance about him - something most football pundits out there could learn from today. He will be a big loss. Rest in peace.

      R.I.P Sir John Hurt.
Always Added so much to his roles,Alien, Hellboy or Contact for example, he always made that difference , and his powerhouse performances in Midnight Express , Elephant Man and 1984.

      Will be sorely missed.

Joost Van Der Westhuizen far too young at 45 and one of the all time greats.

Go read the letter his children wrote to him after he died.

Unbelievable,Great character actor. Often hilarious, True Lies as the sleazy car salesman & as Hudson in Aliens who had some of the best one liners ever,a simple plan also  ,so many great films & his Chet character in weird science was brilliant. R.i.P bill.
As a foot note for those who have Netflix ( UK) have a look at his directorial debut 'Frailty'which is a great film that he also stars in.
