Liverpool 0-0 Plymouth Argyle: In game and Post Match discussion
      Jan 08, 2017 12:15:08 pm

      Anfield waiting the Fa Cup

Starting XI: Karius, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Lucas, Moreno, Stewart, Can, Ejaria, Ojo, Woodburn, Origi.

Subs: Mignolet, Klavan, Clyne, Wijnaldum, Sturridge, Firmino, Lallana.

Joe Gomez makes his first Liverpool appearance since October 2015 and Ben Woodburn is handed a full senior debut as Jürgen Klopp opts for 10 changes for this afternoon’s FA Cup tie with Plymouth Argyle.

Gomez starts in the centre of the defence next to Lucas Leiva after his long road to recovery following an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Meanwhile, Woodburn is handed a berth in attack alongside Sheyi Ojo and Divock Origi, while there are also places for Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ovie Ejaria.

Only Emre Can retains a place in the team from the one deployed at Sunderland last Monday.

The Reds have named a strong bench, with the likes of Daniel Sturridge, Roberto Firmino and Adam Lallana among the substitutes.

The youngest team in Liverpool FC history.

I was hoping Coutinho would be able to return to the bench and get some minutes before united game next week, I thought he had returned to training?

What a line-up from Jürgen Klopp, I hope this 'gamble' pays off but so great to see so many talented youngsters coming through.

Team as I predicted, well I though maybe firmino would start.

All good, well looking forward to watching these young lads play, and bench is strong so can be changed if needed 2nd half.

Strongest bench I've seen for a while anyway!

Little bit surprised there are so many 'squad' players in the starting line up.  In terms of players who've been involved a fair bit there's just Karius, Can and Origi.

Was expecting two or three more.

      Come on you red men!

I do believe that's the first time I've got the starting 11 right.

Fantastic to see such a young but very talented team starting and what a day for those youngsters.

Think I've gone for either 4-1 or 5-1 in the prediction league and I need a 7 pointer to get back in contention so come on baby Reds, don't let me down  xxxxx:action-smiley-065:

Firstly I'd like to pay tribute to young Joe Gomez, what this lad has been through is testament to what a player we have, it will be a special day for him and we all hope his injury woes are now behind him,

Great to see Shey Ojo back to, I have a feeling he'll be getting more game time for obvious reasons,

Think we all expected changes but Wow Jürgen!  I think it's refreshing to see a manager having total faith in his young players, and the confidence those lads will gain is immeasurable,

Backed up with a strong bench I'm very confident that we will be in the draw next round,
Thinking about it, to have Origi, Woodburn, Ojo and Ejaria up front is exciting, and I for one is really looking forward to seeing how we get on,

Risky but credible lineup. I would have preferred a different CB though to partner Gomes.

But I believe in these young lads so I still expect a win.
