We are in for a really tough night I believe. I'll take a score draw going back to Anfield. Very interesting what team gets selected. I think it will be a strong one, and I think it ought to be as well. Can't throw a semi final away with kids, we need silverware back at Anfield.

That has got to be the ultimate aim this season, to win trophies.

Without Hendo, 'the running man,' and Couts the 'creator of all things good,' and Mane 'the pace'
Anyone think there may be mileage in us changing tactics slightly and set up a bit more defensive than we normally do.
We've lost a bit of our attacking ability, and our defensive cover ?
Be safer to get the draw and take them home for the win, rather than go all out and get caught on the break !
Don't wanna be trying to recover from a loss in the second leg.
Get tactics right and I still see us wining 1:3
Get it wrong and we may get punished due to being weaker in vital positions, especially with bob being a bit off form recently !

Nope that would be really dangerous, our strength lies in pressing and harassing the opposition, if we start sitting off them then our defence and goalkeeper really will get exposed. We may not score with just pressing but we will at least control the game and to be honest if we play our strongest side, which I expect us to do, then we should still have enough to at least get a draw if not a narrow win.

Karius, Clyne, Lovren, Klavan, Moreno, Can, Wijnaldum, Stewart (or Lucas), Lallana, Firmino, Origi

Coutinho, Sturridge and Ojo to enter in the second half.

Got to go strong here, still got 4 days until United after it. Still wouldn't bring Hendo, Milner or Matip into the squad though - they should just get ready for Sunday. Would be good if Coutinho got 20 minutes. Maybe give Bobby a rest so he can play with the kids against Plymouth next week.

I'd go with the diamond and use the pace of Origi and Sturridge like we did last year.

Oh bugger I just realised we have no option but to play Moreno :-(. Although could we not play TAA or Clyne as LB or perhaps Klavan as LB and then have Gomez as CB or vice versa, anything to avoid Moreno basically!

How is Middlesbrough 3-0 away, Everton 1-0 away, Stoke 4-1 home, Man City 1-0 home, Sunderland 2-2 away not great form? 13 out of 15 possible points from the last 5 matches! That's league champion form mate. Let's not be perfectionists who are constantly disappointed with things.

I'd like to add that the form you're referring to goes out of the window in every match ok?

      We'll see mate

Big dilemma - but I'm inclined to go more full strength against United.

We have got to beat manure but a draw will suffice at Southampton with a win at Anfield.

The gaffer is all about momentum; I expect to see 8-9 changes from the past game and those same players playing against the mancs..if not you will have some players who will not have played for 2 weeks and would be going in cold.

Would imagine if fit Couts will get 30+ minutes also to warm up for the weekend.

      I'm thinking the same.

Don't care what circumstances it is, I don't want any situation that potentially compromises us against those plastics.

Would be F***ing amazing to get Coutinho on at 60 mins.

I can't wait to see him back up and running 👍👍

Anyone got any idea what the weather is doing down in Hampshire?

Blowing a hooly up here, may affect our longer balls across the park.

I'd take anything but a loss tonight.

Why not both games, win this comp, and we are in the Europa League, a nice little safety net, plus Silver ware..

Hopefully the fans will be singing" When the Reds go marching on" after tonight's game. Then it is on to OT on Sunday for the big game against the Mancs, to end their winning streak.

If it wasn't the mancs up next I'd say go full strength.

But it is and those cu*ts need bringing down a peg, getting ahead of themselves because they've finally strung a few wins together.

Get in front and shut up shop tonight. Although we aren't the best at that :D

Another 1-6 will do nicely thank you very much.

But I would be happy with a draw and then finish them off at home. Fonte being out is a major boost, Yoshida is no replacement.

We should be starting with our strongest 11 and then hopefully sub a few players in the second half, plenty of days between this and Manure and the lads need a game to get their groove back.

It will be a strong 11 tonight, not our strongest though due to Injuries & no Mane.

There's no reason we can't play full strength in both of our next two games. We don't play until Sunday so they'll have a few days rest and the starters wouldn't have played for a couple of weeks by the time we play Man United if we don't go full strength tonight. That's not the condition we want the players to be in going into such a big game.
