Now list all the times he's saved us with saves this season bellend?

Jürgen constantly makes this point about Ali but because he doesnt make any fuss and just gets on with his job he doesnt get the applause he fully deserves. We are lucky to have him

The thing about Ali is that he makes many saves look easy thanks to his excellent reading of the game. He doesn't need to do the "De Gea flying saves" that may look impressive, but are usually a last resort because of a lack of anticipation.
Yes, anticipation also involves some level of risk that sometimes comes bite him in the ass, but the reward is often greater than the risk.

As good as he's been this season, Caoimhin isn't there YET (don't get me wrong, his reading is very good as well, but not at Ali's level).

I know Migs, San Miguel, and Karius got hammered for every error they made. And it was no defence to list off all the saves they made instead.

It's more difficult for Kelleher to reach his level when he plays about 5 games per season. So allowances have to be made. The best we can say, is that Alisson isn't missed when he has to fill in for him.

Is the Caoimhin Kelleher talk in the Alisson Becker thread?

Hard to take a player like that who was at mediocre Newcastle before moving to a mediocre City purely for the money seriously.

      yup rubbish advice.

The lad is no.2 at one of the worlds top clubs, hes getting plenty chances to play, and the more confident klopp becomes in him, the more he will rotate Allison.

He's only reminding him again what everyone else has told Kelleher in every conversation about him for the past 2 years. McAteer does it on LFCTV as well every time the subject comes up. "He needs to go/needs to leave/needs to move on".

I'm sure he's well aware of all the noise, about what he needs to do if he wants to get and hold down a No. 1 spot. I'm sure he's sick of hearing it day in day out. But it's good that he's decided to stay here, and he gets rewarded for his patience. Because he needs the patience of job to get game time here.

But at 23yo and with his upside potential eventually he's going to want to be a starter. Honestly, that should be his ambition and not be a backup for years to come as Alisson is not even 30 yet which is young for a goalie so he's not going anywhere.

And kelleher would of made wordies and kept the three points against Chelsea and stopped the panic in front of him? Quite clearly Ali was F***ing missed.

yes and no, Ali may want to go home in a few years or move somwhere sunny.

Then the young man steps in, just as he is getting to his prime.

But as you say he may want regular 1st team footi before that. Perhaps a loan to a premier league team next season, but then we need another no.2

Kelleher did make wordies that afternoon, just to keep the point we got. You could have put 3 Alisson's in goal, and he wouldn't have stopped the freak hit and hope volley going in off the post. If there was any panic, it certainly wasn't his fault.

He wants regular time now, and if he wants an international career, he needs it asap. But thankfully, he's decided to stay here with us instead.

good lad coming along nicely playing with no expectation or pressure unlike Ali who is expected to keep clean sheets every game.
Work hard and take his chances when they come up for another couple of years,

Yeah whatever, you hate Ali and what your fellow Irishman in goal we get it. Shame he still not at the level Alisson is.

We really have to hang on to Kelleher. He's got an air of calm about him that I think means he could end up a really special goalie. The assurance with the ball at is feet is outstanding. He just doesn't look like he's going to make a mistake - that is a great vibe for a goalie to be giving off, just what you would want as a defender, knowing if you are under pressure you can pop it back to him with no worries.

Obviously Ali is rightly our number 1, but if Kelleher wants more game time next season we should only consider a loan, no way a sale.

Really good keeper, intelligent, makes good decisions, and like you say VERY composed with ball at feet, maybe even more so than Ali imho who can look a little slower sometimes. Though Ali still better all round. But the gap's not massive. Maybe just needs to fill out a little bit, but that'll likely happen over time, and that's probably just nit-picking there tbh.

So unlucky to have Bazunu ahead of him in the International setup, otherwise he should be first choice there.  Bazunu though is also an excellent young keeper and probably deserves to be ahead of Kelleher, really rate him too.

Deffo shouldn't sell him or let him go unless we have someone as good if not better. Already more steady than Adrian or Migs or Karius or a lot of guys who've played more regularly.   Great that Jürgen has given him the EFL cup run, and he also got some PL games there when Ally was out. As long as he's getting games like that hopefully he stays happy enough for now.

Agree with you, and I would love for us to keep him, but unfortunately Kelleher is already 23. Whilst that is by no means old for a GK, he's at an age where he'll want a starting position, which he's unlikely to get here. And Ali is only 29, so it's not like he can bide his time for 1 or 2 years...

And if Kelleher is maybe thinking about going somewhere to get more games, this kind of decision by Jürgen should help sway him more to the stay side.
