I really think Brewster could be our "summer signing" ahead of next season. I rate him over Origi as backup and who knows, could he challenge Firmino ?

Wouldn't Brewster/Origi be cover for Salah and Mane. I see Minamino as cover for Bobby and from what I've seen so far think he can do a good job there, just needs to find the pace of the league/team a bit better.

Brewster would offer little to nothing out on the flanks, his main qualities are his finishing and positioning in the box. If we are to get the best out of him I reckon he would be a direct replacement for Bobby but expected to provide something different to Bobby.

In all honest as good as he is and as much as Klopp rates him, it might be quite difficult for him to fit into our side with the way Klopp has the team set-up, he isn't one to really come deep and link up play, it will be interesting to see how it all plays out next season.

Either way I have no doubt Rhian is going to go on and become a prominent striker in the prem.

This lad could be big, it's just the long term injury that's held him back so far.

Expecting him to be in the first team squad next season.

Hope so. People forget how much attention Klopp paid to him to keep him from moving to Germany. He was supposed to feature a good bit last season before he was injured, and then he was around the first team squad throughout the run-in to the Champions League victory and the league runner-up. He went on loan for match time and clearly is making the most of it. He's fleet of foot but you can tell his football brain is very quick as well.

Sadio and Mo are not "wide players". Look at their position for almost all of their goals - in the penalty area. I do think Rhian can help keep those two rested and make an inpact himself.

Bobby plays a position almost unique to world football let alone the Premier League. Minamino's last sub appearance was a bit more promising than those he made beforehand, but he's light years away from showing he could be cover for the Bobby of the past three seasons.

I suspect Klopp gets a little bit frustrated with Keita's defensive work, he often fails to track runners and when he does it's a little half-hearted. Everyone must realise that the vast majority of our creativity comes from the 3 front players and the 2 full-backs. The three lads in the middle are required to press, hold that shape just midway through the attacking 3rd when we're pushing forward, win the ball back when we lose or it's cleared and then quickly recycle the ball to the 5 lads I've mentioned.

Often their work goes unnoticed when we're winning and scoring freely and yet if the goals dry up people often look to them as the reason why. It baffles me that posters don't realise this. Keita imo still needs to gain the full trust of the manager if he wants to be a regular in our midfield three, he's a skillful little player but he also needs to roll his sleeves up and mark, track and tackle like the rest of our midfield. He still falls short in this respect.
Which is fair enough but I guess it would beg the question as to why Klopp signed Keita in the first place. Iā€™m playing devilā€™s advocate here a bit because I understand that the defensive element can be worked on but why not sign a player who already fits the bill? Especially if the traits that he (Keita) does possess are not going to come in useful for the role he is expected to carry out.

As it happens I donā€™t really believe that this is Kloppā€™s thinking anyway, I think he is protecting Naby due to his injury record. I think this teamā€™s style of play will continue to evolve next season and we will start seeing more creativity from the midfield, with Keita expected to play a big role in that.

I don't understand the thinking of people who see everything as an old 442, when we play a modern 433.

Mane and Salah are not even wide forwards, and our play is more like an inverted triangle most of the time up top when Firmino drops deep.

It's like the "we need a midfield playmaker" argument, when our 3 midfielders are primarily defensive and the FB's are the creators, with the assist stats to prove it.
Even our default formation could hardly be described as rigid, and it shifts and changes throughout a match.

Cracking strike and heā€™s helped put them into the playoffs with 10 goals in 20 appearances

Give him his chance next season, the lad knows where the net is for sure. Of the current forward players at the club, only Shaqiri is any good at free kicks and they very rarely take it upon themselves to hit a shot from distance. Brewster can offer us something we don't have.

Definitely a player there. There's a reason JĆ¼rgen picked him out early and a reason we ended all ties with Gladbach when they approached him.

Will be good for him to get some big match experience as well with these playoffs coming up.

At this point, he's just taking the piss. What a rocket! I love the confident jog back into his half after the goal. I feel like he's getting better and more confident by the day. Preseaon (if there is any), will be really interesting this year.

Not sure if I have mentioned it before but this lad went my school and I am best mates with his cousin, I know for a fact he wants to be playing week in week out for us!

I hope that Klopp gives him the chance next season to make his dream become a reality, he has the talent, also a bit of arrogance in him but nothing Klopp wouldn't have dealt with before.

If Klopp takes him under his wing for the next couple of years we really could see him be one our biggest starts I think, along with the likes of Elliot, Jones and Neco, new signings or not I do think our future is very bright.

Was Beckham a forward player, or Roberto Carlos? Who cares what position a free kick specialist plays?

Youā€™re missing the point! Iā€™m not interested in any other position or player at the club, Iā€™m purely talking about the skill set of our forwards and making a comparison amongst just them players. Why canā€™t you grasp that? Are you that desperate to try and twist what I was saying that you then have to clutch at straws like Beckham and Carlos?! Thatā€™s desperate even by your standards.

Read my post properly and stop putting your own twist on it to create something that isnā€™t there.

A mere comparison amongst our forward players thatā€™s all, so stop being a pillock.

No need to get abusive, it was a simple misunderstanding, not all forwards are good at taking freekicks, ours are crap at it, but what is the problem with that as long as you have someone in the team who is good, are you saying that because they can't take a good freekick they aren't very good players or that it somehow weakens us as a team, I'm still a bit unclear on what your point is.
