Seems like the Clubs PR machine has been in over drive with all the press reporting the same story.

Be interesting to see where he ends up.
I think he'd be perfect at PSG.

So where is our world class finisher then? Where was he in January when we couldn't buy a goal ... oh that's right he's out again with a virus he's been carrying for 16 days.

Is it F***ing bird flu? No matter how much style swagger or finesse there is in him we need to upgrade purely because he's never there when needed.

      A bit harsh.

He has been avaiable a lot this season, he has been on the bench for the vast majority of our games.

      Klopp just doesn't fancy him.

      - From August 5-19th, Sturridge was out for 14 days.
      - From Nov 23 - Dec 18th Sturridge was out for 25 days.

Up until the virus, he has been injured on 2 occasions, the second being longer.

Other than being used as a bit part player here and there, and thrown in with the odd 'B team' selection Sturridge is practically surplus to requirements.

Klopp should have bought a replacement knowing Sturridge wasn't in his plans.

Another poor decision that falls on Klopp's shoulders, as we continue to persist with no recognised striker up front.

My suspicion is that Danny's "virus" and the amount of time it's keeping him out, is as good as him downing tools after it being made obvious he wasn't fancied. We have a dozen or so games left this season, Sturridge will surely be sold after that, and he doesn't appear to be showing much appetite to rush back.

Can you blame him? Well probably yes, but there's no question that lihe Benteke before him he hasn't been given a fair shake, not really. Our determination to play Firmino at all costs has now seen two pretty good strikers whisked out the door, and I do wonder sometimes if the Brazilian with the funny haircut is worth the unswerving loyalty.

I suppose last season when with the squad Jürgen inherited we almost won two trophies you could argue it almost worked. This season though it's been baffling in the extreme, and I guess Sturridges less than enthusastic urge to come back and join the party is predictable. Particularly so when the manager has preferred Origi over him (bafflingly to me) on so many occasions. Origi remains fit and available but unfortunately for us, him and the manager though, "fit, available but not very good" is the full appraisal.

He is getting to look like Harry Kewell in disguise.

Well he wasn't injured so why he wasn't picked ("when we couldn't buy a goal")... that's something that you would need to ask Jürgen to be fair.

      Good question tho.

we need to upgrade purely because he's never there when needed.
Yeah an upgrade on Danny would be brilliant indeed Dado. [Along with upgrades all over the pitch too, in my opinion 😎]

When, tho, do you reckon the realisation of that finally dawned on Jürgen... after January presumably?

I mean: if it had been beforehand then surely to F**k he would have "upgraded" when he had the chance; right? 🤔

It's clear that a Sturridge is, and hasn't been in Klopps plans sine the early days when he'd go on the sick for the slightest little niggle.
With that being public knowledge, how many clubs were banging on the door to buy him in January ?
Not many me thinks. He may go in the summer, but with his injury and attitude record over the last two seasons, we'd be lucky to get £5 mill for him !

Was one of the most feared strikers in Europe that season when he managed to stay mostly injury free.

Cant really blame Jürgen if he wants to get rid as no manager can build a team around a player as unreliable as Sturridge.

No point in getting rid of him if we dont bring in someone of a similar calibre.

Seriously? Why keep him if he is injured most of time - even if we don't buy anyone? It's not as if he is doing great on the pitch when not injured and playing. On a side note, FSG would be very happy to get rid as they would get transfer fee plus saving of salary.

I like Sturridge but I think his heart is not with Liverpool and vice-versa. His performances have not been great and not getting any better. It will be to a middle of table club (perhaps some would argue we are middle of table club but that is for another day) in PL and it would be a step down for him unless he moves abroad.

Klopp on Sturridge: "No, he's not training. He was really ill. Now he has a strain in his hip muscle from a rehab session."

      Just sell him this summer.

This is beyond tedious now! Just sell him. £120k+ a week just for him to keep picking up stupid injuries.

He should just retire, its clear his body is not up to playing and training for football.

Sounds like one of those statements to cover up what is going on behind the scenes. Another Sakho that Klopp has thrown out of the team? - for reasons that we will never know..

Hope not, but it does sound odd that suddenly there is something else. Personally, I'm more inclined to believe he has just given up on sitting on the bench. Must be frustrating that.

Give it a rest you are starting to embarrass yourself now.

Sturridge injured - you are finding that hard to believe........really?

Your Victor Moses obsession was enough to stomach!
