If we lose to Leceister next Monday all this will be in vain. We need continuity. Only then we can reach the CL which will be key to add one or two top players.

To compete to an acceptable degree in the CL needs quality and strength in depth, ''one or two'' squad men or players with potential has failed to give continuity in our league campaign, making even qualification for the CL not a forgone conclusion.

Deffo need to push for a CL place, get back playing at that level.
Hear what you say about attracting players in the summer, but where I used to be think the CL was really important in attracting top names, don't think it's AS much of a factor as I used to - would put it lower than having Jürgen as manager. Either way, if any transfer is not within FSG criteria, it won't happen anyway.

Still a long way to go, beating Spuds at home is kind of the usual :)
Seriously, 3 points, moving forward, we need to hit a purple patch right now

      I think we will.

But there's still no escaping the fact we need big investment in the Summer. Our squad as it stands can only compete in the league campaign.

Back to our pre-new year best yesterday, loved the atmosphere on the KOP, singing loud and proud :scarf: everyone pressing high and not letting any Spurs players have their own way, harrasing them, forcing them to make errors, brilliant, this is what has been lacking so far this year and it was great to see it back, hopefully this result yesterday kick starts our season again and we can kick on from here, 15 days now before we play Leicester, so plenty of time for resting/training, we'll be well up for taking on the foxes, bring it on !! We go again  8)

Chelsea drew with Burnley 1-1  ;D i do not believe we can catch them, But it is not important whether I believe, it is whether the team believes they can... Hopefully they use the slip by Chelsea and the win over Tottenham to drive them on'thus securing a CL spot...

Down side is that it will spur on Arsenal,City and Utd... Still Chelsea still have to play City 5/4/17, UTD 15/4/17 and there are the games between City vs Utd ...Arsenal vs City...Tottenham vs Arsenal....Arseanl vs Utd... Tottenham vs Utd these games hold massive importance for us as well as Our games against 4/3/17 Arsenal 19/3/17 City,,,

The games that have me concerned given our record against minor opposition are the games against the likes of Leicester, Burnley,Bournemouth,Stoke,  West Brom,Palace. West Ham and Middlesbrough... Three of these are in and around the relegation zone with a further four or five that could so easily be drawn into that fight, and that's our worry... In that event some of these team will be only too willing to park the bus, and as we find it difficult to say the least of breaking down that sought of defense it becomes a worry... Still the upside to that is a few of the teams fighting it out for a top four finish will face the same problems...

from Saturday 25th February sh!t becomes real interesting...

I love the touch that Mane makes as he runs past the Spurs defender on the first goal. So many times you see players just keep running in a straight line but he runs across the defender so that if he does dangle a leg in then he's going down.

      Quote from KopiteLuke
Clyne: Solid defensively but poor in attack unfortunately. Highlighted in the first half. Long term I think he needs replacing.

Cheers lads, loved every minute of that one!

That is a common complaint about Clyne. Wanting him replaced is not.

His main job is to defend, anything more is a bonus, so I'm not going to judge him on his attacking capabilities. He's the only decent full back we have, and he is needed.

We haven't lost at home to them in 6 years, and it never looked like happening this time. I just wish there was more to play for than just chasing a European Cup spot.

Really good performance but at the same time this performance and result has also pissed me off a bit if that makes sense. Reason being is because it shows what we are capable of so why have we spent about 7 games prior to this one playing as though we just don't give a damn?!

Like i said lets get behind this great and proud football club .yet some on here not     happy with Lucas playing from start,in my view i support any starting eleven that wear this famous red strip, but at the end of the day Lucas shut the doubters up,and as for the so called supporters posting the cant be arsed with this game ,or cant be bothered etc ,welcome back.

Saturdays performance makes me scratch my head even more about the past month. Still can't work than one out.

We played well and genuinely think we have turned the corner. Wouldn't be fair to come on here and only moan when things go bad, so well played Reds, onward we go.

Leicester have yet to score in 2017 in the league. We ARE NOT going to lose to Leicester. They are completely at sixes and sevens and are still in "we are champions" mode from what I've seen of their play...

I think you spell "faith" wrong in your username mate.

Have to agree with littleface and add that I think that it took Mane to tow the whole team forward and drag the performance out of them... Great win but as littleface said do the same against Leicester

So what of Gini's through ball and the chances that led to Mane scoring on a re-bound after some last ditch keeping?

It was a team performance, harsh on the lads to say it took Mane to tow the team forward because everybody was pulling their weight, regardless of who managed to get the goals.
