Time for Can to step up tonight, if he can't tonight then quite frankly I don't think he ever will.

No Sturridge (a viral infection two weeks ago and still can't make the squad?!) makes our bench look awfully weak but hopefully the first XI will get the job the done.

He would need an entire season of beastly games to displace Hendo...right now he needs a great game just to be his back-up next season.

I don't think Can has any opportunity to take the position away from Hendo. I just hope he plays well enough for us to win.

Spot on this.

Can coming in for Hendo should give us a good look at how he fares in the role. I would be much more worried if he were replacing Lallana or Gini but for this game he should be plenty good enough to play the 6 and apart from the sweet drifting deliveries that Hendo has been putting in the box I think Can could possibly be a bit quicker on the ball and allow our tempo to be notch or two higher.

In either case it's another chance for the lad and I hope he does well.

Got to say I'm worried with Vardy and Mahrez running at Lucas, hopefully the midfield give him plenty of protection and Klopp is proactive when Lucas usually tires around the 65-70 min.

Agree with others that bench  and Klopp thought we didn't need reinforcements, hopefully that decision doesn't back fire come May!

If people think we can get away with a squad of such little depth with the probability of going back into Europe next season then they are probably the type who would sent their soldiers to war with a mop and a colander.

Its a right mess isn't it?

The signing of Klavan is beginning to look really odd when we turn to Lucas to play CB over him.

Klavan a player who needs to be sold/released next season and a proper defender who can challenge the first team/ can be relied on as a squad option needs bringing in.

We are a team fighting above our station I believe, decent first XI but any injury and things get ugly, fast.

Come on REDS, we need this so much.
