I guess this shouldn't be, but really is another big game, a must win if you like.

This lot deserve a major going over, leading 3-1 with 14 mins to go we managed to gift them a 4-3 win back in early December.

Their form has been reasonable against middle teams, but against the better teams they have been beaten. We must turn them over.

      Other games this week are,

      Manchester United v Everton
      Arsenal v West Ham United
      Chelsea v Manchester City
      Swansea City v Tottenham Hotspur

... so some teams will lose points, thus we must not slip up.

I'd go with the team that started on Saturday baring injuries, if changes are to be made, then so be it, maybe Origi on for Mane, & if possible and injury willing Mane on the bench, but even this is unlikely as the offal reports, Sadio Mane is unlikely to be fit for Liverpool's game against Bournemouth on Wednesday after picking up an injury during this afternoon's Merseyside derby victory, Jürgen Klopp has confirmed.

      NB: Team no longer available

      Come on RED men.

On a side note, and a vastly important one, Liverpool Football Club will pay tribute to the 96 supporters who lost their lives at Hillsborough during this week's game against Bournemouth at Anfield.

A minute of applause will take place before kick-off to celebrate the lives of the 96 and, in time-honoured tradition, fans at the Kop end will reveal a commemorative mosaic.

Players will wear black armbands as a mark of respect and tributes will be displayed on LED boards surrounding the pitch. There will also be a commemorative edition of the matchday programme.

Really need to treat our remaining games as Cup finals, lets get another 3 points on the board and hopefully a few goals for goal difference just incase.

Can't see Lucas playing Wednesday, wouldn't be surprised in TAA started.

Manchester United v Everton (everton for me with scum getting a few injuries and sendings off)
Arsenal v West Ham United  (wham please with arse getting a few injuries and sendings off)
Chelsea v Manchester City  (realistickly we are not going to catch the chavs, but i don't want scum getting 4th, so draw for me with injuries and sendings off for both)
Swansea City v Tottenham Hotspur (swans please.  Oh and with spuds suffering injuries and sending's off)

      I don't ask for much

Think Spurs losing is a slightly wishful thinking but then Swansea are fighting for their lives so who knows. The other games could well be upsets and I can see Citeh beating the Chavs.
Oh and we really should be able to beat Bournemouth this time, but if we are leading with just 15 minutes left can we please play a bit more defensive ;-)

Could be massive these fixtures and results in affecting our fate in the remaining games.
Got to take all three from these on Wednesday as a priority.

Think we'll win 5 of our last 8 games and this will be one of them.

And as pointed out - that defeat at their ground should be prime motivation for the players.

      Fingers crossed on Sadio Mane.

Don't be silly! They'll do anything to see us drop out of top 4, and that includes losing to Utd. Remember the home game vs City in the 13/14 season? 100% Utd win, everyone should put their life savings on it too, get some free money!

LFC to mark 28th anniversary of Hillsborough

Liverpool Football Club will pay tribute to the 96 supporters who lost their lives at Hillsborough during this week's game against Bournemouth at Anfield.

This week, young players from the Academy will take part in a two-day Hillsborough Memorial Tournament alongside youth players from Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest.

The players, aged from 9-14, will compete in 9v9 and 6v6 games at the club's Academy site in Kirkby.

On Saturday April 15, players and staff across the club will fall silent at 3.06pm to observe a minute's silence to mark the 28th anniversary.

LFCTV will feature a day of themed programming and will be free to air in the UK and Republic of Ireland, and worldwide online via the club's official website and LFCTV GO.

LFC stores in Liverpool, Birkenhead, Chester, Dublin and Belfast will also cease trading temporarily so both staff and customers can participate in the minute of silence.

There will be no Hillsborough memorial service at Anfield this year, at the request of the Hillsborough Family Support Group, who informed the club last January that the 2016 service would be the final one to be held at the stadium.

On April 26, 2016 an inquest jury concluded that the 96 supporters who lost their lives as a result of the Hillsborough disaster were unlawfully killed and that no role was played by the fans in causing the tragedy.

He's already done that twice this season. Besides, he drew the game before last against Man City. Move on. Next question.

Stems from not being seen in training pictures but given the challenges Can took against the bluenoses I wouldn't be surprised if he was only on light training anyway. Or it could simply be that the photographer didn't catch them, no clue but that's where it appears to come from.

It's bitters all over Can on Saturday. They were just trying to hurt our players. Basically, if you can't beat them at a game of football then injure them so that their season doesn't improve.

Quite a shocking statement there at the end, unfortunately it's how we mostly feel this season!

We should beat these at home and if we don't then we only have ourselves to blame if come May we are in the Europa League.

That said, the past few games has seen a semi resurgence of our pre Christmas form ( the corresponding fixture apart) and hopefully the team are up for some revenge.

I never look forward to these type of games where the season is coming to a close and we've still got something left to play for but we come up against mid table opposition who are under no pressure.  I'd rather play a team at the bottom or even at the top so we're both under pressure to win the game. That said, we've just wholloped another mid table team 3-1 so same again please reds.

The likes of Ojo and Wilson should have been given game time when Mane was away at the AFCON which now means we have virtually zero options as a replacement for him. Putting Firmino out there means a ineffective Bobby and conversely it's not Divocks preferred position either.

Think we might have to change things up for this one.

If we stick Bobby wide we'll miss out on all the other stuff he's been bringing to the team over the last couple of months.

Hope Divock's goal pushes him on and Studge is fit enough to make the bench. We need pace and firepower upfront.

      Origi
      Cou Bobby
      Can Lucas Gini
      Milner Lovren Matip Clyne
      Migs

Subs- Karius, Klavan, Moreno, TAA, Grujic, Woodburn, Sturridge

Why is Origi in the goal and Migs up front? I know Migs is not that good a keeper but surely he is better than Origi!

Not sure if Lucas is up to two games a week if not I would go with a 4231

      Migs
      TAA
      Matip
      Lovren
      Clyne

      Can
      Gini

      Milner
      Firmino
      Coutinho

      Origi

Gruji, Ings, Sturridge, Ojo - we haven't seen anything from them, all injured for most of the season...

Looking like Can is out for this game. Just as he was picking up some good form.

Bluenoses kicked absolute Fuk out of him at the weekend. :-(

Same team with TAA starting in place of Mane. He has pace,a great cross and a decent shot in him. The way our squad is, he is the best replacement we have got.
I love how Klopp has given extra motivation to the guys using comments made by their player in the away game. We need this extra something in all our remaining games considering we have only got to play the kind of teams which we have fallen short against for quite sometime now.

Losing Mane last time round through the Johnstone's Paint Trophy of Africa was not good but our poor results were as much to do with the likes of Can, Coutinho, Firmino etc playing utterly wretched stuff. If Coutinho can find his best form and Can keeps up the standard of his last two games the effect of losing Mane will be nowhere near as bad.

Could not agree more! Would have liked to have seen Moreno tried out on the left too.... still would seeing as Mane is out now.

Mane may be out for the season according to Klopp today. Can missing training is a pretty big deal in Klopp's selection process, plus we don't do so well when there are three matches in a week anyway.

Lucas was excellent Saturday but I'm not crazy about him playing again so soon. With Hendo and Lallana already out, seems we are very likely to have at least one new face in the starting midfield (I presume TAA would get the nod if that is the case).

Firmino should stay in the center of a front three as we lose too much from him when deployed out wide. Origi's best position may also be in the center, but he is more useful to us out wide than Bobby is. I am worried about the two Brazilians as well re fixture congestion between Intl. duty and this week's schedule.

BUT, fighting spirit can carry the day for us if we show it. I think tomorrow will be more about guts and goo than woo and hoo.

(I'm not sure what that means either, but I think the message is conveyed  ;D ).

If Lucas can't handle 2 games in over 4 and a half days then something is wrong. We played Saturday lunch time and we don't play until tomorrow night, that's a pretty big gap between games considering one of them is midweek.

Who can be sure? but it certainly isn't being reported by any creditable source. The list can probably be revised to below if we take out any irregulars and players expected to return tomorrow.

      S Mane, Knee Injury
      A Lallana, Thigh
      J Henderson, Bruised Foot

I would say the exact same lineup as last week, just with Origi starting instead of Mane.
Sturridge on the bench instead of Origi, so one in one out... hardly an injury crisis!

nervous about this game, desperate for the win. the lads need to focus and concentrate.

we need the same level of performance that we take in the big matches.

      no silly mistakes.

worried that we will change the back for and include Moreno or Klavan

Just gotta keep it tight and break quick when we get the chance( and we will get them)
Even without Mane Lallana and Henderson, the Brazilian lads should do the biz for us and if porridge gets on the pitch he'll score without doubt.
If Can is carrying an injury and he plays the full game it won't look good for Stoke away on Saturday where it will be much more physical in the middle than this game..
Like to see this fella Grujic get a run out...even Woodburn too at some point..These fresh legs and determination could well make the difference during this ugly run in.

like i said just gotta keep it tight at the back and be awake defending corners..

Going for a nervy 2-1 win.

Don't see us slipping up twice against these, even with the injuries we've got. Think Jürgen has learnt about the 'lesser' sides turning it on because they're playing us.Think he's getting the tactics better and better as the season goes on.
Expecting pretty much the same side bar Mane. who will be a big loss, but think Origi is coming back into a bit of form, and although he doesn't have the same pace, he's still a handful when he's it. Going for a comfortable 2 - 0 to us.

Time for Divock to capture the form which excited a lot of us last season before he got injured.

His goal at the weekend will have done him the world of good.

Same with coutinho, who's form was pretty average until Saturday.

So its not all doom and gloom.

Feeling fairly confident about this one, I don't reckon they'll park the bus and we are playing some nice stuff at the moment. Mane will be missed though but I still think we have more than enough to beat this lot.

Would have felt a lot more comfortable with Sadio in the side but not to be. Get it done lads please.

Just about to leave for the match, feeling fairly confident that we'll get our revenge tonight and come away with all three points, gutted for Mane that he's out for the rest of the season  :( time for others to step up and make a name for themselves.

On the Kop as usual tonight although we won't be allowed to stand, meeting up with Jon - Paisley/Dalglish tonight, come on boys let's make some noise !!!

I don't like Lucas much either, but you would have to be seriously insane to think Moreno or Woodburn will start tomorrow.

I think I'm insane that I'm thinking that Klopp will play them but I would to be honest. Both give as pace and width to the left.

I think Moreno might be in with a shout, but Woodburn will most likely be sub.

Any word whether Emre is fit?

Funny how quickly he has turned around my impression of him.

Maybe when quoting it.. I've strayed close to that report button and when I'm on my ageing android a little lag can mean a wrong button press!

That or he's jealous of Diego's Anfield attendance this year!  :D

We owe these cu*ts a slapping, despite our obviously weakened X1 I'd be tempted to go with thus......

                          Mignolet
          Clyne Matip Lovren Milner
                TAA   . Can     Gini
             Firmino.          Coutinho
                            Origi

      Simple tactics.......

      ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK!!!!!!!

      bet we win??

      YNWA

Best line up I've seen yet, all things considered. Think well win with that, as long as everyone turns up.
