I've been browsing through some google results, and apparently, Arsenal have to pay Southampton £10k every time he plays for more than 20 minutes.
No idea if it's true, but it might explain his sub appearances on 71 mins

Also lots of reports from last summer onwards saying he wanted a "bumper pay rise" as he's "only" on £65k a week.

No idea what to make of this, but if it were up to me, we wouldn't be paying big money for him.

Very interesting. Yeah, totally agree with regards big money, while there's just that little gremlin nagging me that he 'could' be absolutely fantastic the injury worries just put me right off and even more so at that price.

To me he's a bit of a gamble for whoever takes him, that could certainly pay off but for £35m you'd think we could find someone who carries far less risk attached.

Personally I don't want him for that money, half of that maybe, but I'm all for causing more consternation within the gunners camp.

I buy that there's time to adjust to a new league/country but that's about as far as that phrase carries imo. If you're good enough you'll adapt and judging by where we've been buying from I believe Jürgen feels the same.

Personally I don't want him for any money. Not good enough.

We should be focusing on players that improve the starting 11...he does not.

Given the severe lack of quality we have in depth I can't complain at the prospect of signing Oxlade Chamberlain. Personally always thought he's been a very talented player if far from great. I'd be intrigued to see how he develops under Klopp if it did happen.

Reliable? Cant see any of the others reporting this.

Don't be silly. He's no better than Wijnaldum, Lallana, Coutinho or Mane.

I always thought he was a good player. I don't know how he & Walcott stayed at arsenal as bit part players.

I would not mind Oxlade for about £20m.

Don't rate him. Don't care what price but...

I really am having fun watching the 'experts' wrestle with the notion of this signing going ahead tho'.

Bets being hedged and weird rationale on display all over the show... 'just in case'😁🤗

He is a good player, but as others have said, his injury record is a concern.
I'm also wondering who people think he'll displace in the team, because given the reports about him wanting a move because he's unhappy with so much bench time at Arsenal, how will he react to being a sub here?
I honestly can't see who he replaces.

I do like Oxlade, but do we really need him or will we improve with him ??? I do not know, we could or vici versa. I won't go all out for him. I would only pay 15M max or wait another season.

Even if we are after him, why would he come to LFC to sit on a bench? He may as well stay at Arsenal.

Oxlate Chaberlain is *not* coming to LFC. Simples.

Most footballers tend not to have it all upstairs when thinking about this stuff. Their ego also gets the best of them when it comes to making rational decisions.

Or he's really trying to get an improved deal from Arsenal and his agent has put this "story" out there to try and kickstart negotiations.

I like him and honestly the only similar player we have is Mane (perhaps not in terms of ability but I do think Ox is a good player), someone who can run at players and be very direct and has pace and power. Whether he would get straight into the team I'm not sure because I don't see who he replaces.

But if he can apply the work ethic Klopp demands then I think he's a perfect Klopp type of player.

Regarding the price it doesn't bother me too much but that also depends on who our other targets are. Knowing us though we will leave it and try get him for nothing next summer meanwhile leaving ourselves short for the season ahead...

someone come out and put this rumour to bed.

      it stinks

he struggles to get in a poor arsenal midfield and has not improved at any considerable rate to suggest he has more growth in him.

what you see is what you get - and that simply isnt good enough.

Not for me. Another superstar of the future at 18. Still the same player now with a bit more physicality.
Never really made any improvement/development, and probably won't do in the future.
Sides like Watford, Bournemouth, Everton, Palace would be made up with him.
We gotta aim higher if we are expected to make any improvements.
