Klopp has wanted him since January/February...maybe his opinion is that its not a bench warmer?

Or perhaps you know what the manager wants more than he does?

      Hmm...which one is right.

I'll let you tell me....you seem to have intimate knowledge of not only the inside of Klopp's ringhole but his brain as well.  :f_whistle:

Good signing, plenty of energy, can play in multiple positions and still only 24. My point is lallana and Milner are not getting any younger so we need this squad depth.

       ???

If we have signed the OX I can't be the only who feels a bit meh after yesterday's heady excitement of the possibility of getting a much better sort after player in Lamar, I wonder what the OX is smoking if he believes he's getting a game for us in centre midfield utter madness. Don't see him pushing any of our first XI out but Lamar maybe would have and that's what we need top quality competition not just decent.

      Meh

No probs mate... I know where he can play but the truth is; he hasn't played full back much (at Arsenal) down the years. He has played more across the midfield (in wide roles in particular); those were the other positions he failed to deliver in.

I get he can cover. I'll accept that but let's not pretend he only flopped at Arsenal because he was played in the wrong position.

Fair points ... all I'd say is that Wenger is a totally different manager to Klopp. It's just a gut feeling I have to be honest!

Just to be clear... a 21st century "wing back" is a winger who tracks back to help a back three.

Same way as we expect our "wingers" to track back and double up. He's NOT a wing back my hole. 😁

He, like Milner, fancies himself as a midfield general... end of. 😉

Lot of truth in that - certainly his aspirations but ambition is no bad thing.......backed up by the ability anyhow.

I remember he had a spell playing centrally for the Arse a couple seasons back to rave reviews......but Wenger moved him again (possibly to accompdate Ozil) or an injury.

I see him playing centrally and an option either wide in the front 3 or in behind if Jürgen wants to juggle his formation.

We'll see soon enough. I've always liked his directness and that he can move the ball quickly. Arsene's love of and need for Aaron Ramsay's goals have seen him get the nod AND restricted this kid at times in my opinion.

I could be talking out my arsene but I believe there's a lot of potential in AOC.......

We tried beating Roma down over the fee for Salah, which was to total around 40mill. Salah has been consistently good now for a few seasons.
Ox has done nothing and shown nothing to look as if he can really add to the team and has just 1 year left on his contract, but we go straight in and offer virtually the Salah fee, no hassle at all.

      Something's not right there.

It is reported he rejected Chelsea because he did not want to play wing back.
Most his seasons at Arsenal is what I am talking about, not just recent seasons.
From what I have seen, Arsenal fans are pretty pleased to see him sold, there never thought they would get anywhere near that much money for him.

If we buy him I hope he proves me wrong but as of now and taking to some friends who support Arsenal he isn't good enough and he isn't going to improve the starting eleven.

I would take him as a backup but we need to spend money improving the first team, specifically the defence.

Sky reporting deal agreed with Arsenal £35m plus add ons. Medical to take place either on Merseyside or at England training camp. Ox needs to agree personal terms!
I think he could be a really good player for us, he's quick and he's powerful and I think he'll blossom under Klopp! Oh, and apparently 6 year deal. I await official confirmation, but looks like a goer.
