Just the thought of playing against a Pulis team makes me nervous like no other team.

Even though the Baggies are safe from relegation and have nothing to play for you just know that bald headed dinosaur loves nothing more than putting one over on one of the foreign managers.

More than any other game we are going to have concentrate on all set pieces and in fact make sure we don't give away any needless free kicks.

We are a better footballing team man to man so just play our game and don't make any defensive errors we should be ok, easy said with LFC!

Personally I'm not a big fan of the three at the back and in fact our CB's don't seem to offer us any more protection than the two at the back so hoping we start with Matip and Lovren, Klavan should be no where near the first team.
Doesn't look like Lallana will be back so maybe Lucas with his aerial ability might be an option in midfield alongside Can and Gini.

The Brazilians should be fully rested and ready to start. I would start with Divock and bring on Danny for the second half.

      Migs
      Clyne
      Matip
      Lovren
      Milner

      Lucas
      Can
      Gini

      Coutinho
      Firmino
      Origi

I am going for a cautious 2-1 to us.

BTW: We are playing West Brom not West Bron. I am sure we can win against West Bron quite easily. ;)

Team needs to grow up or mature, in a sense.

I wonder if Jürgen's going with the three center backs again. I bet he does.

I think this should be the team, as it gives Jürgen an option to switch to 3-4-2-1 by moving Lucas back, with Clyne and Milner as wing backs. Origi should start, would be an useful option while defending corners and we could go direct as well.

Another tough away game, I did not get my prediction right  for the Stoke game. These games tricky to predict to my mind.

      Always a tough tough game.

But my god I utterly despise that waste of human flesh that is Tony Pulis.

Him and Craig Shakespeare would make a great 'creepy PE teacher' double act.

I'd be tempted to maybe go with 3 at the back again, depends if they've been training on it all week as it definitely needs a bit more polish to make it work. If not go all out attack, blitz the fuckers and try to get 4 or 5 goals because you know they'll get a couple as well.

I don't know why he would when we could still comfortably field a 4-3-3.

I think he tried it out against Bournemouth with the idea of Stoke, West Brom &  Palace; that along with the statement a few weeks back now talking about being more pragmatic and just grinding points than trying to make style points. So a 3-5-2 or some kind of hybridized 4-4-2

Pretty sure its going to be 3 at the back with Lucas in and Milner going back to his normal position in some kind of mad idea where Lucas may be playing deep mid or even as part of the back 3.

I have no doubt Mourinho will just park the bus, so I am wondering if we should stick Coutinho in midfield with either Moreno, Ojo or Wilson out wide for width? Do we really need Can, Lucas and Wijnaldum in the midfield vs Utd?

      Tricky one this.

Exact type of fixtures we need to be winning, exact type of fixtures will usually fall short in.

Let's hope the lads show the same type of "character" if nothing else from the Stoke match.

Hey, Arse and Mancs not far behind us. Everyone else seem to be writing them off for top 4. I know they got to play top sides, but who's to say they won't get lucky and win all those games. Not if they play each other of course, but one of them could. We still have it all to do, and like a fat sam side, Pulis will have his players wanting to kick us off the park. Not only do we have to turn it on big time, we have to press high and counter fast like we did early on in the season.  At the same time, we have to match them physically. We will need early goals to unsettle them. They are not doing so good lately and will wilt a bit if they go behind. It's important we don't go behind or we'll face the inevitable bus. I think we are starting to believe we can beet these alehouse sides, and although it un nerves me playing them, I think we will do it Sunday. Could be one of our more impressive wins. I've gone for 2;0 to us in the predictions, but i'm thinking the easter bunny will be on our side this time and it could be 4 : 0
Shame we have to wait until Sunday, with today off work, it seems ages away.

Agree with this selection, and also about not playing 3 at the back.

Interesting question is whether we should play Origi and Cou out wide in a 4-3-3, or make a virtue of our lack of natural wide players and go Origi and Firmino up front with Cou in behind. Maybe try one and, if doesn't work, switch?

I don't know why he would when we could still comfortably field a 4-3-3.

I guess it's more about tactic than personnel, although Mane being out obviously affects everything.

Lovren in the Echo today basically confirms this is what we'll do vs. West Brom. I think it is partly because Hendo is out as our best option for a deeper-sitting midfielder. If he gets back in (and I'm afraid that is an "if" not a "when"), they may go back to 4-3-3.

      So Sunday I'm thinking

      Migs
      Clyne, Matip, Klavan, Lovren, Milner
Can, Gini, Phil (reckon he's playing almost a free role in this - of course in Jürgen's system it's hard to pin down any of the forwards' positions)
      Divock, Bobby

This is what Lovren said in the Echo:
“Stoke is a similar team to West Brom with long balls, and we played the system (3 center backs) quite well in the second half,” he said.

“I think it’s a perfect mix for us - Matip in the middle, me on the right because I’m right-footed, and Raggy (Klavan) on the left because he’s left-footed. It’s quite a good mix."

He likes it better than I do, but he would know by this point of the week what system they are practicing with for the match, so...looks like 3-5-2.

Always a tw*t of a game against this lot..
It doesn't matter whether we play with a back 3 or a back 4 we have to be focused when those crosses come in, especially at corners.
I watched them destroy Arsenal a few weeks ago from quick crosses and not getting tight enough to their big men attacking the ball.
Apart from that they really are sh*te !

If our two Brazilians can turn it on again we should put this game to bed..

The first 20 minutes will be crucial for us.. no stupid corners given away and no daft free kicks.

               Mignolet
      Clyne Lovren Matip Moreno
           Milner Can Gini
      Coutinho Sturridge Firmino

With Origi to replace Studge, and Lucas for Moreno late on :) ... won't happen.

Feeling confident ahead of this one. Such an important win last week. The manner of it, crap in first half, but upped it really well in the 2nd to take all the points.

WB have 1 pt from 3 PL matches I think - so they are not pulling up any trees. Would expect them to be workmanlike like Stoke were, but if we show intent up front, think we should do em.

Shitty have tougher game away to our feeder club, and Utd are playing Chavs.  3 points would be very nice thanks...

      Migs
      Clyne
      Matip
      Lovren
      Milner

      Lucas
      Can
      Gini

      Coutinho
      Firmino
      Origi
      i would go with that.

I don't think I would, not at the business end of the season, I think we'll win here, wont be pretty and will be nervy, but think the remembrance of the 96 and our traveling kopites will help navigate us through a tricky away fixture.

It should not matter who the opposition is we have got to go for 3 points from every match. We are in a good position but cannot afford any slip ups.

They'll try and do a Leicester on us.. I'm convinced of it.
Big f**kin long ale house balls upfield and long throw ins into the box...
We've just got to be hungrier for the win and as LFCREDBLOOD said earlier the spirits of the 96 will be on our side and will blow Pulis's stupid baseball cap off his egg head.

Apparently Firmino will begin on the bench again, so we may see Sturridge on at the beginning with Origi, and Coutinho behind the strikers along with Can and Gini in Mid,and the 5 at the back as I mentioned before.

Don't know how long Jürgen figures Sturridge is good for.

Other options would be Woodburn with Origi, Coutinho up front with Origi and TAA or Marko Grujic as the third midfielder, or Lucas at D-Mid and Gini and Can playing higher.

Just like last week, we can expect a tough, hard fought game. Also like last week, I'm expecting the same score line.

Pulis' men excel at set pieces due to their physical make up, so we can expect problems here. I expect our pace and skill to win the day though.

I think from now on in, there are going to be no easy games left. It's the business end of the league and teams will be wanting as many of the remaining points as possible, to either propel themselves to mid-table or secure another season of PL action. That said, I'd take a 2-1 win every day of the week...

If I were you, I'd ditch the kids and get out and visit the last few 'pubs' before the homoginised outlets make every drinkery, a child friendly, shitfood, plastic lager supplier, owned by 1 or 2 multinational companies destroying local communities.

But then of course those factories of misery are the ones that show PPV football.

God, I miss the old days... 3pm KO's, Pink Echo.

We are going to have over 80% of the ball, but this game will depend on how many corners they get.

Heard a good interview with Matip saying that we are so up for this and know exactly what is going to happen from Pulis's team, so lets see if we can have the game intelligence to win a really tough away game.

I'm always convinced we will have the majority of possession. Most shots on target, most shots off target. We will have the most passes, most interceptions, we have superior players, more to play for, the superior crowd support, etc etc etc.
So why am I not convinced we'll win 😳

Well that's the norm against the lesser sides, but today, because I hate spewlis with a vengeance, I think we'll do it. 0:2 to the Red Men!

Depends what WBA turns up, very much like what Reds side turn up, they like to put a shift in if it means F***ing somebodies season up ie our top 4 finish so beware ,still take the Reds tho , an early goal then we can set about them .
