There's a supposed knowledgeable "ITK" on the Saints forum that both Saints fans and Liverpool fans (on Reddit) hang on his every post. He has said that one club has bid (he implied it was us) and that they flat out refused because it didn't meet their valuation but he also said even if the bid was higher, they may still try to hold out and not sell him. They really are deluded enough to believe that if they keep him they can maybe make it into Europe.

They were in Europe last season mate (and that came courtesy of finishing above us in the league The season before I may add) so it's not so deluded in their eyes.

I don't think he's going anywhere. We are taking a stand on Coutinho and Saints are doing the same with VVD so fair play to them I say. The lad has acted like a fookin tw*t trying to force his move but then maybe (like Phil) he shouldn't have singed such a long extension.

One thing that this summer has brought home once and for all is that these itk's are a bunch of attention seeking bluffers and bullshit merchants who take pleasure in the attention they get in return for the utter nonsense they peddle, just treat them with the contempt they deserve

In the longer term IF this summer does wrestle a bit of power away from the agents then it may prove to be a really positive thing (even though it thwarts us just now!)

#AFC have met with Van Dijk & his reps but I'm fairly sure all the big PL clubs have. I guess Saints would rather sell to us than Liverpool
