      Like f**k will this happen!

It's the oldest trick in the book, make the fans dead excited for next season and throw them off scent with bullshit PR. It's the same principle that applies to Arsenal being linked with world class players just before season ticket renewals.

Nah, we're going to have to make do with average players like Michael Keane. He's a blinding world class player him, taking Burnley to the giddy heights of 16th in the Premier League....... that's just our standard right there with FSG and the cockheads in the transfer committee.

According to the Liverpool Echo LFC are prepared to break transfer records and land the lad for £50m.

Only too well aware of the JWH&Co malaise concerning a totally fu**ed up transfer strategy(?) but the footy section of the Echo is usually well dependable. It is to be seen if we continue with the F**k up and if the Echo has become part of the media shield FSG have in place.

I'm guessing Coutinho's transfer fee will be used on VVD?

Are you really dead excited about this lad? Football had officially and indisputably went mad if we of all teams pay £50M for this boy and that is speaking as someone living in Scotland who had seen him up close

The problem is that given how much previous they have, it's easier to be cynical about FSG than it is to not.

A more sensible assumption would be the possible transfer of Sturridge providing some wedge for any deal.

I think he's decent, but that's silly money.

Then again, when it comes to transfers I don't bother much about players until they've signed.
All this speculation doesn't appeal to me.

      25 years old
12 caps for a shocking dutch team
      league win with celtic
6 unimpressive matches in the champions league

      and that's your lot

50mill? laughable. Hes not in the top tier defenders in the league, let alone europe

But, but, but he already plays for Liverpool B. ;)

I'd be happy to land him for 50m. Whenever I've seen him he has been top class. Big, strong, quick, good in the air, good at tackling, reads the game well, good on the ball too.

F***ing get him in he makes our CBs look like school boys.

Who cares how much he costs if he is the managers first choice.

Anybody complaining about how much he costs should just look at a few replays of some of the goals that the current clowns have conceded.

If this Summer continues the trend of recent years then £50 million can't be considered an overpayment for a player with Premier League experience. The entire market is over inflated atm because the EPL is awash with money. Even if it is overpaying, I'd rather see us overpay to get the deal done and over the line, rather than negotiate our way out of the deal which is how we've operated in recent years.

I would rather we sell Moreno & Sturridge & top that £50 million and buy back SUAREZ..

Don't need a defence when the madman is putting them away for jokes.

Didnt work out that way the last time he was here and he is now a couple of years older and past his peak.

And I'd rather us buy Messi & Neymar too but that's not happening either :D. As if Suarez would move, he has no reason to.

It's the way of the world these days unfortunately.

For me it's more of an observation about how silly it's all become, and how all this money is basically ruining the game.
It's a far cry from the working mans game that it once was, and I don't think the change has been for the better.

what can people expect from someone who has played 2 seasons in the prem at a team who don't challenge for much and have no where near as much pressure or expectancy as we do

it stinks of Lovren, Sakho etc

and the people who are saying to pay 50 mill should have there heads examined

When Lovren was at Saints, the MOTD blokes had him down as a world beater and best defender in the prem.
