Pre match Liverpool v Crystal Palace 23/4/17 16.30ko

Here we go again, only 3 home games left and this is another must win game against a pretty decent Palace side, they are almost safe in the Premiership, and I think they have some decent players, but even though we have so many injuries, we have more than enough quality to beat these and claim the three points.

After our last two away games were we claimed maximum points, we must keep the momentum going and put big fat sam and palace to bed  :lmao:

Looking forward to being back on the KOP for this match, can't believe we've only got 3 games left, this season has gone so quick...champions league beckons, come on boys, we can do this !!

F**k Palace. No matter how many times they sack someone, they come back with an even bigger arse-hat in charge.

      Win. Win big.

You're not kidding, their last 5 managers were all annoying pricks.

Ian Holloway, Tony Pulis, Neil Warnock, Alan Pardew & now Sam Allardyce. Imagine those being your managers since 2012.

No games are easy now . Still think that West Brom was the toughie.

You've got Benteke with a point to prove and Fat Sam who should have been banned out of the game.

They don't have anything to go for ... they are safe in the league ... but he would be happy to F**k things up a bit for us.

      We are at home.

      No excuses.

A another must win to keep the Scum off our tail .

This is all in our hands only we can screw it up.

and talking of Fat Sam and his ethics.

Old ' arry.   Got to admire him being Old School.  Gone into Brum and if he doesn't keep them up he doesn't want paying.

He was the man to have led England  .... not the arse wipe Hodgson.

Matip being out is massive, But it gives Gomez a chance to shine.

He could also change formation 3-5-2 ?

      ---------------------- Mings ---------------------
      ---------- Can - Lovren - Gomez ---------------
      - Clyne - Gini - Milner - Coutinho - Moreno -
      -------------- Firmino - Origi -----------------

Also the option of starting sturridge and dropping Firmino back.

What's the injury situation with Lucas? IF he's fit enough to play then I wouldn't mind something like the following...

      Mignolet

      Lucas Lovren Gomez

      Clyne Wijnaldum Can Moreno

      Firmino Coutinho

      Origi

Moreno over Milner purely because of the pace against Zaha on that side and also to give Milner a rest.

Another obviously must win game, with Benteke looking dangerous, for Palace. Defence needs another good performance, the Reds should snap up another three points.

      Why?

Benteke is not mobile or dynamic he's an aerial threat and is strong so is Joe though.

Klopp said this morning that Matip not necessarily out, so hoping for the best.

If he, Lucas and Klavan are all out that is going to be an interesting team sheet from Jürgen.

Maybe I should change my Prediction League tip to a higher scoring match ... 7-5 to us you reckon?

I would prefer a midfield of Can, Gini and Marko Grujic or Trent Alexander-Arnold,with the usual front three of Phil, Divock and Bobby.

And hoping Matip will be ready to go.

I don't think the squad is weak, what I find weak are the players, but then again, the same sh*t happened at Dortmund. Maybe Klopp needs to consider changing something in training?

I'd leave Milner at LB and instead put TAA in midfield in front of him. I still think we should have enough to beat Palace, I think they will miss Sakho a lot.

CP are on a decent run, they are strong and quick, and imo a side that could cause us problems.
But it's at home, and we're in good form ourselves.
Absolutely not a game we can take for granted, we need to go out there and really perform to get the 3 points.
Utd have a tough run in, we need to keep the boot on their chins and go and win this one.
Should be more open match than WB, reckon they won't sit back, they're safe, they have nothing to loose, no pressure - but that should leave us some space to work in, need our guys in the final third to be sharp and take advantage.
On Benteke scoring - no chance :)

I was questioning what they were going on about when I saw the training pics on the offal before. F**k knows who their sources are but they're having 'em on :D. He's not the only one who has tweeted about Matip & somebody else being out either.

Can't trust anyone on twitter as much as we'd love to!

See I was wondering if Joel wasn't actually participating, but just out there with the team. Again hoping for the best.

You're not kidding, their last 5 managers were all annoying pricks.

Ian Holloway, Tony Pulis, Neil Warnock, Alan Pardew & now Sam Allardyce. Imagine those being your managers since 2012.

No thanks! Never would won't to imagine that, one woy was bad nuff.

I don't think the squad is weak, what I find weak are the players, but then again, the same sh*t happened at Dortmund. Maybe Klopp needs to consider changing something in training?

Wasn't it the opposite in Germany, decimated squad early on in the season then fit near the end?

      Gonna be interesting this one...
They are scoring goals and have pulled off some decent results lately..No mean feat putting 3 past Arsenal a couple of weeks ago..
So we're gonna  have to be careful at the back and show our class up front if we are to get anything out of this game..

This is a very important game for us and I expect the crowd to be loud and proud from the first minute..
If we f**k about with the ball across the back and let them on to us they could easily ruin our day..

Vital 3 points up for grabs, it's ours to lose really..

      3-1 home win

Dunno what it is with Studge, but he is really unfortunate with niggles. Thing is, after a debilitating injury, knocks and niggles become ever more apparent. Two years can easily come and go and still not get anywhere near full fitness. Poor lads confidence in his own body must be shot to pieces...

Convinced these " Niggles" are mental rather than physical would hardly run through a brick wall , Stevie alluded to this also in his book. Shame as abundance of talent but will be remembered for wrong reasons in the future.

Re Matip, article today says they did not take part in full training Friday but are still in contention for the match. I'm wondering if the medical staff has told Jürgen he is going to need surgery but might have a few matches left before then, so Jürgen is just saving him for the essentials.

Or better, Jürgen just handling him with care during the run-in, given how vital he is to our success.

My thoughts exactly mate. We're going to have a game on our hands I reckon and if we F**k around with the ball in defence, it won't be good.

We should be beating these though.

The lads have finally figured out how to win ugly in recent weeks so another one of them will do me just fine. Fingers crossed Matip makes it and I'd like to see Origi start this one. I fancy us to win it 2-1 with goals from Origi and Firmino.

Vital to keep winning these type of games against so called "under dogs". A lot depending on the defence once again. Whilst I am sure someone can find the back of the net, to secure all three points.

Hope you're right. I'm not confident about this one. If they can take points off a full strength Chelsea there's a good chance they can against a depleted Liverpool side. All down to the strikers today, I think. We might not get a clean sheet but let's hope we can out score them.

It will go down to the wire. Taken a quick look at the remaining games and chances of us finishing 3rd is good and 2nd is not impossible either if Spurs screwed things up. As for now, I'm happy with 3rd. The lads must remain 100% focused and with a "must win" attitude at all times. All the best to the lads.

Feeling confident, think we will win the 3 pts but definitely wont be easy, this is a Fat Sam palace side that pulled a few rabbits recently to ensure their PL safety, now that they have found their sanctuary its possible palace minds could relax knowing (1) they are indeed safe, (2), they have F**k all to play for, and have minds already in holiday mode,

We on the other hand have plenty to play for so should want it more than them, for that reason I believe we will grab another win and with it another step closer to the holy grail of CL football,

Hoping Matip makes it Lucas to, be much more secure at the back if they do, anyone heard anything regarding these two ?

Coming into this one, it is somewhat reassuring that both Can and Lucas have shined against this type of opposition. If they can limit    service to Townsend, Saha and Benteke, we should be able to handle this game somewhat comfortably. However, a poor performance from these two would cause our backline to be on their toes throughout, in which case I could see us concede goals. And like some on here have said, good performance from at least two of our front 3 may suffice for this one. So, don't think we need an absolute stellar performance....just one that's "good enough". Come on you reds. 2-1 with goals from Divock.
