We leak that he is our first choice target for LB and confident of getting him then suddenly as we can't compete with Spurs :lmao:

Hope so but I imagine City and Chavs must be favourites.

Struggled to get my self excited for a 17 year old coming in to fill in an already lacking and critical position.

It was one a weird one for me. I liked the look of him the very few times I did watch him - and I wanted us to go for him - but by bringing him in it would have meant that Milner was our starter for next season. By not signing him we can hopefully bring in a much better player to start right now.

Apparantly (football aside) this kid is not one of those 17 year olds who would take to too much upheaval and isn't massively forward for his age. Staying near his friends and family important to him, and if we don't get him that's the reason. Top kid in football terms tho, will go all the way.

Who gets so riled up about journos spouting random transfer news?

We're going to get linked with 100,000 players this off-season. All for the sake of clicks and traction.

Welcome to social media in 2017. Settle down :D

I would have thought that Milner was too slow to be an effective left back for a Klopp's style team. In my opinion, that remains the weakest link in the team.
Clyde is quick but so hopeless when attacking. His crosses are utter sh*t. He needs replacement too.

Contrary to popular belief, you don't have to be lightning quick to be a good footballer. Ability, vision and awareness are infinitely more desirable than mere pace...

So do you think this indicates that this was mostly agent and paper talk?

I suppose other explanations include he is truly a home-body and just can't stand the thought of leaving.

OR, his agent expects to get a bigger transfer fee, payment and contract in another year or two if he keeps getting a regular game at Fulham.

Or want a bigger a transfer this season, like with Suarez, Van Persie etc and him signing a new contract will allow Fulham to raise his fee.

I had heard on the podcast and read his parents wanted him closer to home and that was a couple of months ago.

Fair play to him if he's stayed for regular first team football to aid his development. Might not have got that here or at Spurs.

Still hope we go back in for him at some point - he's gonna be a special player IMO.
