Still in our own hands then.

I'd take these 1-0 results to the end of the season.

Is right Si, beauty and style mean nothing at all right now...just drag it over the line and get us home no matter how.

Close MOTM because there is no one near Can with that goal and presence in our midfield.

People that are saying we created so little need to think the Sturridge chance, Lallana on the break away that should score. Origi on the follow up where he chests it after being asleep. Origi running through clear, I thought we had the chances to finish that game off just for various reasons, either fitness or lack of quality from Divock we kept Watford in it.

Definitely something we need to improve on is finishing off games but the chances were there and it would have been a travesty had they equalised with just about their only real chance of the game.

There has to be a case for Sturridge to get more minutes, Origi isn't cutting it for me.

Just looked on RedCafe and there's a 'Liverpool fan' who goes by the name of Cheech Wizard placating Man Utd supporters with...

"it's not over yet, we're terrible against Southampton, West Ham are physical where we're not, and Middlesboro may need to come to anfield to stay up"

      http://www.redcafe.net/threads/premier-league-matchweek-35-29th-april-1st-may.428573/page-42

What a slab of n*b cheese that lad is.

Sad that. I think the most difficult games are behind us, Stoke and Palace are much tougher fixtures than any we had/have left. I'd be really disappointed if we couldn't get at least 7 points from those games and I think 7 points would see us in the top 4.

Mind boggling how Sturridge doesn't play Gini in at the end there. He was lucky to get a free kick which worked out alright for us.

      Interesting observation that mate.

I thought he was MotM for sure in this game.

Was he MOTM for his stupid free kick at the end where they almost scored?

Agreed mate, thought he was looking for the angle for far too long but that could be match sharpness.

The one were Lucas won just about every single aerial duel in the midfield against the biggest side in the league. The one were his passing was fantastic including an assist.

Just because Can scored a wonder goal doesn't buy him the MotM award imo, it's about the contribution over the entire 90 minutes and for me Lucas was the most dominant player out there.

FWIW I also think Matip was ahead of Can, but people get attracted to goals and tend to ignore the little things in the match which all add up.

Yep, solid again, looked confident, came and gathered crosses, dropped nothing.

We dealt with the free kick. It was the second phase where Lovren/Matip forgot what defending was.

Lucas was my MOTM but i voted for Can. That kinda goal to win a game deserved the vote. Stonker of a strike.

He won the game with a piece of individual brilliance, and was solid all match, MOTM for me :)

I wish we were involved in more dull turgid games to be honest. I am at least encouraged by the fact that we've won three on the bounce away at places like Stoke, West Brom and Watford. The way to achieve consistent wins there is to descend to their level and beat them at their own game as opposed to naively thinking you can blow them off the park with sublime gegenpressen football.

Still a typically stupid free kick to give away in the last minute of the match from our most experienced player which led on to their chance.

I agree, lets forget the 2nd phase and just blame Lucas for everything.
