Squad for friendly against Sydney. No Coutinho or Can because of international commitments.

That wasn't my point, and I just saw Carra is in the squad too. But whatever, I guess its just an end of season friendly and not pre season.

Looks like he might be planning to make 11 changes at halftime, which I'm sure is fine with the players.

Fair enough, but yeah, I guess it's an end of season friendly, so it doesn't matter :) Be great to see Gerrard on the pitch again though!

Look on the bright side, at least we'll be spared his commentating on BT Sport! Now if only they'd take Owen with them as well...

The one chance for the channel to be relevant and they do that haha.

Everyone was cringing watching it on the train home. The reaction this morning has been ruthless :lmao:

Standard Aussie night. Plenty of plastics, littered the Kop so affected the atmosphere but YNWA was great and was half sloshed by the time I walked in the ground.

Loved seeing the deluded Sydney fans shot back down to earth thinking they actually had a chance :lmao: Ref stopped the fight when Gerrard was fouled in the box and didn't get the call.

F***ing marvellous! How do you Aussies get it so right ALL THE TIME?! Along with the visit to Melbourne 4 years ago, this just proves just how special Liverpool is held down under. Liverpool's second home! F**k it, let's all move there!

F***ing marvellous! How do you Aussies get it so right ALL THE TIME?! Along with the visit to Melbourne 4 years ago, this just proves just how special Liverpool is held down under. Liverpool's second home! F**k it, let's all move there!

To be fair, some of them banners looking F***ing boss.

Some cracking banners didn't even make the shot. The bar outside had them draped over the second level balcony overseeing the whole crowd. Looked brilliant.

Thankfully people learnt the words this time. Melbourne ruined the previous trip. People saw what real Liverpool fans could produce and want to sit amongst it for the atmosphere as a casual sports fan. Dilutes the crowd and takes away from it being as magical as Melbourne. But last night was great again.

As a Sydneysider I though the atmosphere was embarrassing when compared to Melbourne and even Brisbane put on a better show.

There were that many plastics out there last night it was cringeworthy. Top of my list was fans not knowing the words to ynwa, not singing anything after it, continually trying to kick of the Mexican wave and being more interested in cheering on a F***ing paper airplane flying towards the pitch then watching the game.

If I was the club I wouldn't be in a rush to come back down here anytime soon.

The positives were watching the boys in the flesh and Sturridge razzle their defence. What feet!

I did enjoy the match especially the first half,it was good to see our retired players in our strip once again.I certainly enjoyed watching D'Agger once again but I thought McManamans best days are well and truly gone but in his defence he is 45.Well done Sydney for putting on such a good show. :scarf:

Enjoyed watching the game, clean and fair game. No over zealous tackles or moaning. Game played in the right spirit but in the end the quality is reflected in the scoreline.

I agree. I was F***ing disappointed if we're comparing this to Melbourne. Whenever I looked over towards the kop, they were in disarray. It was really dishearting. So called Liverpool fans. It was everything that Liverpool wasn't about. I didn't get kop seats, because it all got sold out within half an hour. I knew that some people bought 10 tickets on the Kop and we're going to give it to his friends who I'm pretty sure aren't true Liverpool fans. There were F***ing Sydney FC fans on the Kop wearing Sydney FC jerseys! How fu**ed is that?!

I was singing the Team of Carragher song with my missus, and two guys behind us joined in. Meanwhile, the bitches beside us complain about how we're making too much noise? I don't know what the F**k you're doing wearing a Liverpool jersey, but please F**k off. Some guy behind us yelled, I love you Agger! This girl infront of him turned around and gave him the biggest death stare. F**k off! You'd do the same at a beiber concert.

The Liverpool Legends last year had a sh*t turn out. But at least we had real fans! In fairness, it probably would have been better if the game was organised 5 months in advanced as opposed to 1 month.

The first half was great seeing the quality on the pitch. The second half was complete trash. If we had real fans, it wouldn't have mattered how sh*t we were playing, because we would actually be having fun, and singing out hearts out. Tbh, as sad as it sounds the paper planes, beer skulls and the Mexican wave slightly made it up for me considering how stale the second half was. But not worth the $150 tickets.

      You're being sarcastic aren't you ?

No I think that he was quite good given that he was free to get into the box and was helped by a RB. An assist and a goal is not bad, even for a friendly.

I am asking myself how can Sturridge fit n the team and I think that if Klopp favors Firmino, playing Sturridge on the RW might work; in fact Sturridge used to play as a winger.

I think he was more than decent there and he brings a of dribbling which few of our wingers do (we only have Coutinho, Mane and Lallana). When Coutinho plays on the wing, how many times does he dribble from the wing and cross? Rarely.

Does he actually have any type of pace to be considered a winger?  Mane is a winger....Coutinho and Firmino are more midfielders playing up top.

Hard to picture Sturridge streaking down a wing....he is a prototypical play off the shoulder #9 with a great football mind and decent movement around the box.

Winger?  nah go get some real speed if we want a winger.

If the city of Liverpool had to be relocated to anywhere in the world (for some bizarre reason), Australia would be a good home for it!

Compared to someone like Mane or a Hazard?..Yeah.

He has quick feet and his footballing senses are extraordinary but he is a play off the shoulder type of striker not out on the wing.

He's far from rapid, them injuries have definitely taken their toll on the pace he did have. He's not exactly a slouch but he isn't really a player blessed and known for his speed now.

The scientists must be busy at the moment.

Doesn't take a genius to see he's gotten slower though.
