Even the impatient pessimist in me understands this is great news. Just wish we could have had him for this year. You know for a fact Phil is gone next year so even though they aren't the exact same type of player, it's basically a net zero sum and we'll still need to add to our midfield next summer even with Keita incoming. And that's if we don't lose Can as well.

Very interesting -- exciting and depressing all at the same time....  Our luck, the lad will do his ACL on the last game of the season and not be able to play the entire 18/19 campaign.... 

Hopefully, we get 1 or 2 more deals done for players who can help in the 17/18 campaign....

Yeah, it's a bittersweet feeling - love the player, but was hoping we could have strengthened for this season. With our attacking looking so ridiculously good, you can't help but feel that if the rest of the squad improved, then we would have a real shot of winning some silverware.

I like it that it also seems to show a longer term commitment from Klopp, for Keita was clearly one of the players he badly wanted to have in his team.

Anyway, despite the good news (if confirmed), hopefully we'll also sign at least a central defender before the end of the window.

Surely if we've agreed a deal and he's had a medical then he is our player now. With that in mind that would mean that we will loan him back until next season other wise what's the point of the medical. So if he's our player and we loan him back and next season he comes back with a broken leg or an ACL then that's tough on us.
