I think that's wrong Daily Telegraph had to publish a retraction that he was asking for £50k per week. The suggestion is he'll be on 20k per week which if he's a part of the 1st team would probably make him lowest paid member.

The plan is that he will play in the U23's and just like Woodburn, TAA, Wilson etc given opportunities in the Cups to push for first team football.

He was always going to get a pay rise no matter what. He's at the end of his contract which currently makes him about 8-9k a week, they're not exactly going to reduce it are they :D. Chelsea fans are just coming out with the bullshit about him wanting 50k a week but that story was proven to be false.

He knows he will never get first team football at Chelsea because they have no idea how to implement home grown youth into their teams.

I am hearing from random people that he was on a higher wage than what he will be on for us. Can anyone confirm this? :O

My guess is for the coming season he'll be part of the U-23 squad.

Well they rate him at Chelsea, think he'll make a player. We can p!ss and moan about how he's probably going to get more of a go with us than he would with them, (and that fact does grate a bit wuth me too if I'm honest) but his signing might end up being shrewd. Either way it's costing f*** all so it's only a shot to nothing un any case.

They DO rate him tho, so we'll see.

Ok, mcarz was right, I decided to some digging, he was earning 7k-8k!

Anyway, I think he scored 42+ goals for the U23s in 2014/15 season and 23 games/7 goals on his debut season as a professional. Maybe, just maybe we could have ourselves a clinical finisher here! Will have to wait and see I guess.

Who could possibly be upset about this? :D

An understudy to Sturridge or his replacement. We'll wait and see.

Nothing against the signing but typical Liverpool, Man Citeh pull Bernardo Silva out a hat early doors and we grab this lad.....

'Typical Liverpool' posts and it's not even quite June yet. F**k me dead. I'm sure you were well disappointed when we nabbed that Inter reject Coutinho as well.

Striking options is always great to have, especially with a four front battle coming next season - if this lad is right at that point where he can come in in a few cup matches and all that, and make a difference, then great stuff. Haven't seen much of him myself, but a low risk high reward purchase is never frowned upon from me. Chelsea striker rejects go alright around the league as well, don't they? :D

Chelsea own that many players that they have to let some of them go. Wouldn't it be great if he turned out to be another one that the let go off too early like Sturridge? 😁

Good luck to him! Apparently he tweeted in 2012 about his appreciation of Anfield and its support.

I would understand the sort of reaction to this signing with we were in the last week of August, still waiting for a "proven" forward to be signed and then we brought in Solanke. But hell, it's still only May, can't we leave the cynicism aside for a second and welcome a young player with bags of potential to our club? By all accounts he is a very talented youngster coming from a club that is famous for not giving young players many opportunities. Hopefully their loss is our gain.
