Liverpool FC 2017/18 Fixtures.

Tomorrow at 9am the EPL will release fixture for next season, this is fake news as at 9:05 BT & Sky will then release their official fixture list.

The new Premier League season kicks off on the weekend of August 12/13 and finishes on Sunday, May 13, 2018.

Well, for the 1st game who and where do you want us to play?

Southampton (A) is surely the fixture computers idea of a sick joke for the opener....

Newcastle United at home would be cool..

Well if last season is anything to go by hopefully we start with Arsenal, Chavs, City, Spurs, Mancs and Bitters all H&W.

It does not matter 1 iota who we play in the first match,if we want to see number 19 arrive at Anfield we have got to have a  positive attitude and go out and beat every other team.It is up to Fenway to back Jürgen Klopp  and bring the players in that we desperately need  to make sure we get off to a winning start home or away

So first game is Watford away with palace first home game followed by Arsenal and then Man City.

See we also play the manc cu*ts at Anfield on Oct 14.

First derby also at Anfield which is December 9.

One thing I noticed is there isn't a month in which you can say the fixtures are ridiculous like we could last season. All the big games are spread out.

Tough list. Last 5 away games of the season feature the mancs, the neighbours, and Chelsea last away game.

7 games in December and a European game, and probably a League Cup game, so you could be looking at 9 games there, including 2 long treks to Brighton and Bournemouth, and the usual complaints about lack of rest, small squad etc. Arsenal and Burnley away begin and end the Christmas schedule.

Not many highlights, but the trip to City is over early, and we have Brighton at home last day. Time to relegate someone else.

That is a great fixture list. No difficult period throughout. Start, end, and even Christmas/January are all fine.

No excuses (well, until TV broadcasters start shifting the fixtures around).

8 games in a month, 2 trips to the south coast plus London. That's a tough schedule.

So Man City (A) on Sep 9 with CL group game 1 that midweek

Oct 14 - Man U (H) with CL 3 midweek followed by Spurs (A) is a tough run of 3

CL5 in Nov just before Chelsea (H)

and CL6 just before the derby on Dec 9

Could be worse groupings CL game wise - the 'advantage' if there is one, is that we are playing teams in the CL before or after - so no excuse of opponents being fresher

I was paying more attention to the big Prem games with that comment really. Of course there are going to be huge months with European games wedged in,

You add in the FA & League cup matches in December and first couple of weeks in January and it will be brutal Dec/Jan.

Last season we had we had cup matches Jan 8th, 11th, 18th, 25th, 28th, 29th + the regular PL schedule; add that in next to December and it would be easy to see any squad...not just us knackered by the end of January.

Watford away is always awkward, and they have Silva now, who will park the bus, as he did against us last season. We've two months to find an answer.

Arsenal and City are in the first four games. Arsenal at home should be handy enough, City with all their new players rather less so.

We'll be getting the extra fixtures either way, as we'll be in Europe until at least December.

As for the traditional argument every year that they don't matter, that will change soon enough when the heat is on and the going gets tough, as it always does. As it looks now, the start is tough, the run in is tough, the busiest time of year around Christmas is tough, and the usual complaints of x amount of games in y amount of days. Arsenal and Burnley away are not top of the list of fixtures you want at that time of year. The biggest home games of the season are both before Christmas, so the mancs will come here in October again and park the bus again. And that's before injuries, suspensions, cups, and games in hand make their own impact. So the timing of fixtures matter.

Last year, having the last game at home was a huge help in getting over the line, and we took advantage of it. We have it again next season, hopefully we can take advantage of it again if we have to.

Think we have utd and everton after a champions league game that could impact on those 2 games.

I'd have taken away to Watford as first game, we should be flexing some muscle.

Newcastle home to Spurs in their first game. Should be interesting, especially given what happened last time they met in the league Rafa all the way baby.

Who cares? This is the Liverpool fixture list, which is set to get much more complicated than the league schedule suggests.

After the line, the cup caveats come more in to play, but that is roughly how our list will eventually end up looking like.  Above the line, there are 21 league games by the turn of the year, 2 more than normal. The new contracts and signings officially begin tomorrow, and we need a lot more than 2 new players if we're going to deal with that schedule. It's 2 games per week for pretty much the entire season.

The first ticket arrangements have been drawn up, and the first tv changes will be announced soon to further affect the schedule.

5 of the first 7 fixtures have been changed. The season starts at Watford, and it's our first early Saturday ko time for our first game since beating Stoke at home in 2013.

Surprisingly our first home game of the season has been left as scheduled for the first time since 2011. Indeed two home games have been left on the original ko times, which is the same amount as the whole of last season.
