Watched the first leg and the referee had nothing to do with the result, just bad luck for the oggies and poor finishing by roma. A bit ironic to talk about corruption and Italian football in the same sentence . if you are talking about the dzeko 'penalty' then it was rubbished by all the pundits. Of the teams left roma are the one i would want in the semis as they have areas that we can exploit such as fazio etc.

Don't think Roma were implicated in any of the major Calcio/Totonero scandals in recent decades so it's a bit unfair to lump them in with that side of Italian football. The amount of feigning injuries to force yellow cards for the opposition, diving and harassment of the referee by Barcelona in any year has been disgraceful and referees have lapped it up time and time again. So they thoroughly got their comeuppance last night.

Entertaining game and after having Madrid on the back foot for most of the game I can't understand why Juve started F***ing around the edge of their box. Was a pen as well as I don't think the defender gets anything on the ball & the Madrid player at that stage of the game was always going to go down.

For me it was a clear pen, imagine if that was Mo Salah in the 93rd minute a couple of years out from the goal. I seriously doubt all those saying it wasnt a penalty would be saying the same. Benatia doesnt even touch the ball.

That said, I agree with those saying Oliver probably wouldn't have given it had it been on the other box. I do seriously doubt he would do it against Madrid, in the Bernabeu, that late in the game... would probably have waved for the game to continue. Doesnt change the fact it was a penalty for me

It probably was a penalty. Red card was cowardly by Michael Oliver though.

I'd have been demanding the penalty like.

Fair enough, just reading a bit about it now.

Makes no difference to me, think we will tw*t them all silly in the semi final.

It doesn't matter how much they dive dude. The only fella in the wrong there is the defender. Steamed in and put his hands on and wrapped his leg around a guy not four yards out.

Not the way I saw it mate, the defender made a legitimate attempt to poke the ball away and no he didn’t barge into his back.

The Real player had time to put the ball in the net but he waited for the contact instead.

      Extremely soft imo.

I'm happy it happened,  though. Love a bit of drama and I think I'd prefer Real over Juve in the semi.

Ronaldo is immense. Haters gonna hate, but seriously, better grow up and save energy to hate people worth hating such as Theresa May or Boris Johnson. Ronaldo is just too good. He relishes responsibility like few ever did in the history of the game.

Ronaldo is the greatest footballer of all time, but he's still a c**t.

So is a defender these days not allowed to touch an attacker at all tgen? Seriously I just don't get it any more, a penalty should only be for 100% obvious fouls, ie where a defender upend an attacker, not just a slight touch on someone's back.

If Ronaldo was at Roma I doubt he would score 10 goals in a season. The level of investment put into the teams he has played for has totally skewed any analysis. People will always refer to his stats and they are totally dependent on how much money Real have spent assembling a team that can spank all but 2-3 teams in Europe.

For Portugal the only trophy they won in his era, eh had no influence on at all and was out in the final when they played their best.
In international competitions its hard to get the assistance you need to keep up stats like his. I remember him at Utd when they won the league but had the worst record in the top 8 against the top 8 teams. They basically beat everyone below that home and away and he scored. That to me is Ronaldo and to a lesser extent Messi. Are lot of what they have achieved is directly related to the investment into their success by their respective teams.

If I was the ref I would have sent Vasquez off , given a penalty at the other end and taken my shirt off and ran at Madrid fans. Let's face it Madrid represent everything that is sh*t in modern football. Money buys success and this is their mantra. No more Pavon's it seems

This is maybe the most bias, moronic and bitter thing I’ve read in years.

Struggle to score 10 goals a season! Give me a F***ing break! Are you high! I hate the c**t but he’s one of the all time greats. To not see this is just ignorant and your opinion on anything to do with football should be null and void.
