The two goals he got today make this his second best goalscoring season, only bettered by his first year with us when he scored 44.

To me that was far more impressive so i hold his first season here as his best, bar none. This is hands down his second best season for us since he has more goals than any other season (outside his first) including those where he was also taking the penalties.

Maybe it will, maybe it won't. Season's not over. May be easier scoring a pen than a goal from open play (it may not, if it's a tap in) but that doesn't mean they don't count. Age and quality of your teammates are also relevant considerations when judging individual achievement. Above all, Mo's contribution this season could result in no. 20 and possibly more.  I think if it all goes well history may well judge it as his best season

This season is Salah’s most influential by far, particularly in the league.

This is unquestionably his greatest season. 27 goals 17 assists, and still 9 games to go, he has gone to another level. For me he has edged infront of Gerrard as the greatest I've seen play for us. He was a great goalscorer in his first season, and he had the pace to roast players, but he is much more complete now. The number of games both scoring and assisting shows that. He has to conserve energy now and be selective in when he runs, but seeing him track back at City was a player who is going above and beyond to get us to that title.

I actually remember when you said this a few years again about Rushie record, thought you were deluded 😂  maybe just a passionate opinion now 😂 I don’t think it can be beaten but if he were to stay 3 years and maintain his current form I might be eating my words. 

He is a phenomenon.  To do what he does is one thing but the fact the media report every time he doesn't smile shows how committed and in love with the game he is.

In terms of shirt sales and the Egyptian / Africa market alone - its worth signing him up for another 2 or 3 years surely?

This guy is THE BEST PLAYER ON THE PLANET.

He loves Liverpool, he wants more success, he elevates players around him, he is a special phenomenon.

2 years with an option for a 3rd year in the contract might be the best scenario. I'd be a bit reluctant to give him 3 years on massive wages. He's currently favourite for the Ballon D'or in my opinion but we still need to be a bit cautious about his long term fitness.

Think I prefer our own player of the season now. Think  the D’or overrated and fixed now. There’s no doubt in my mind Salah should win it but no faith in there system 🤬 ( fixed )

I don't care much about Ballon D'or but Mo is definitely 1 of the favourites to win it. I think it is focused to much on the international tournaments and champions league. It's also to focused on forwards; I was pleasantly surprised that Rodri beat Vini Jr, got a bit more respect from me because of that.
