The sheer arrogance of the press from those parts of Spain beggars belief, very much mirroring the clubs they cheer lead for.

If you think the press in this country is tainted, Spanish press takes it to a new level. Gutter rats...

Egypt should give Salah a bodyguard because he will be targeted. Hegazi should protect him :D

Great article here on Salah's unifying effect on Egyptian society. Best bit at the very end when an Egyptian kid is asked which team he supports:

      "Mohammed Salah."

He will start on the bench, a sustainable way from Egypt. Hope, he subbed in and scores.

If our man would have got a game Skip it is very likely Egypt could have got the draw at least.
      Happy Birthday Mo.

I reckon Hector Cuper was holding him back for the other two games in the group.

I feel sorry for the lad.  Half fit and still expected to put the team on his back.  If Uruguay get a draw or better against the Saudis, then Egypt is out.  This is the first time in Salah's life that Egypt have been at the WC.  It's entirely possible he'll never have another chance to play on the worlds biggest stage....

He very well could. He's young enough where he'd realistically have a shot at 2026 world cup, where basically everyone makes it as it'll go to 48 teams, despite being 34yo as Egypt may not have enough talent to keep him out.

Feeling a bit concerned with how these past weeks may effect him.

He's had a rough time with zero positives.

Hope he can put that aside, recover physically, focus mentally, and come back stronger. He needs a good break now.

Even though their final game is pointless, hope Salah can still play and show a little of what he can do. He needs to come home with some positive from it all.

He scored a goal in the World Cup.

There aren't many player who have even achieved that.

Salah will be fine and come back more experienced and stronger for next season.

He has played and scored I think he will be satisfied with that considering the awful few weeks he had.

In all reality that team is a one-man team, much like Wales with Bale, they are very poor and even with a fully fit Mo they would have struggled. I'm just happy to have him back in 1 games time and also the fact that he doesn't get the chance to fire up the ambitions of to many clubs out there.

The standard of national teams in Africa is very poor at the moment so I would be confident Egypt will qualify for the next one.

Oh come on he was hardly expecting to win the World Cup with Egypt was he, I'm sure he's just incredibly proud to be able to represent his country at the highest level and score a goal.

While Mo might be satisfied he scored I doubt he will be satisfied with getting beat.Once again he also came in for some rough treatment and the sad part is he gets no protection from the refs.

Odd decision playing Salah through the centre, would have been more effective if he were deployed in the position he played for us... Had players all over him with little space to create...

He scored a penalty goal.. hoo-rah!

Come on, you think that is what he aimed for? Egypt should have qualified from that group. They have massively failed, and his injury is part of the let down.

Well obviously he aimed for more but they are an average side even with Mo and in a tricky group so no big surprise they are out already.
