Got a feeling if we carry on upwards like we are he might even change his mind and stay? Call me mad or anything you want but itā€™s possible?

Carrying on upwards in what respect? Transfers or performance?

I honestly don't think the addition of Van Dijk is enough to persuade him to stay. It improves us no doubt but it doesn't solve enough problems for it to be a factor in his decision making. If you mean in terms of performance then you could say we've been pissing away results for the last couple of months.

It's not, we are still in CL!!! And I agree with FL Red, we won't be selling him in January, I'd put my house down on it too

Also not sure why people think Keita is a like for like replacement. Heā€™s not.

Don't need like for like. Getting Kieta means Lallana will have a more forward role.

Didn't really know where to put this (can of worms and all that) so here it goes. Ever since the news we signed Virgil for big bucks, I have this feeling that Phill will be gone for sure this window since I'm not sure we have that much spending money without selling anyone. It's just not FSG's style to spend so much and not get anything back. That was my first gut feeling and I'm freaking out so any reassurance or calling me crazy, would be welcomed :)

It's been pretty well-documented that they were way in the black with transfer business previously, but when you look at the purchases of Mane, Salah, Ox, who was the big makeweight transfer out for those? Christian Benteke? He wasn't in Klopp's plans. Mama Sakho? Definitely not in the plans. If Coutinho goes it will because he is insisting on it, and even that won't happen until the summer, but Phil should think long and hard about what he's going to be leaving.

Whatever your feeling about the owners, I don't see how anyone can say they are not backing this current manager. When Klopp has identified someone as one that he wants in the squad, they've generally been brought in. The guys sold were players Klopp didn't want anyway, and the fact that they got some decent fees for those expendable players is a good thing, not a bad thing.

As much as it pains me, he's all but gone in the summer you'd think.

Makes no sense for any party for him to go in January.

If they sanction selling Coutinho this window would be one of the most stupidest things, should have just let him go in the summer and get a replacement that could play CL.

The owners saying that he wasn't for sale just to let him go 4 moths later... doesn't make sense to me.

A lot of people saying it was a mistake, that the page was made ā€œjust in caseā€ he moved but that would seem really premature seeing as how thereā€™s been nothing seemingly concrete in the media.

I have a feeling this move is going to happen and I wouldnā€™t be surprised if we also have Goretzka and Lemar deals ready to push through to make up for it.

Crap, what am I talking about....this is FSG.

He's gone. I think we all are ready to admit that.

Can't see it happening in January. They're flying in La Liga so don't need him and he'd cup-tied for the CL.

Letting Coutinho go in January when we are battling for a top 4 spot and in the last 16 of CL would be up with there with the worst decisions Iā€™ve ever seen made at the club.

It makes no sense to any party to do this deal in January.

January makes no sense. I just don't see it happening this month.
As I said a couple of months ago it makes last summer ridiculous to them let him go mid season, really ridiculous.

Why when we are still in two competitions and still have a big fight to secure Cl football next season to we let one of our players go? We hold all the  cards here.
He can go next summer, we can find a replacement and give the  manager a summer to integrate him in with hopefully a pot and cl football to continue our growth.
To let him go now weakens us mid season and makes no sense when the  player has 4 and a half years to run on his deal, there is no need to sell him now. It would genuinely be another case of one step forward 3 steps back under these owners.
Sometimes owners have little choice but to let a player moved as they hold the cards but not in this case, we hold them all.

If he goes this window I'll be furious with the club. Not because I hold much respect anymore for Phil but because of the impact mid season  it would have on us. It's different to Torres in Jan '11.. We were a bit of a shambles at that point and needed a rebuild. Right now? We are a couple of steps from the top rung of the ladder again, so why upset that? When you don't need to?

He can go in the summer, tell him he can, tell him he can announce it before the world cup if he wants.

If he goes this month then the owners can f**k right off

      Agree.

Makes no sense to battle to keep him all summer just to sell this window.

He'll be gone, I have no doubt about that, but it'll be in the summer.

Has to be in the summer. If we sell in January it is one of the worst transfer decisions we could make and if we collapse after jan, for whatever reason, people will point to the sale.
