If he stays he plays and that is fine.

If he goes and the money is spent on quality replacements fine

If he goes and money is not spent then bad.

Not fussed one way or another...every club brings players in and every club let's players go.

      This all day.

I have a feeling he may stay one more season with an agreement announced soon that he will join Barca next Summer same as the Keita deal.

Jürgen wanted 3 players in place for the start of this season.

We have 1 out of the 3 and he is doing pretty good.

So when you weigh it up its not been a good summer window.

Sell coutinho when they said they would not makes it an even worse window in my view whoever they bring in. 1 step forwards ... 2 steps back and then 1 step forwards (if lemar replaced him).

Bring Lemar in to add to what we have. Go all out for VVD and compromise with coutinho for next summer when Keita comes in and we have all summer to spend the cash.

Not sure how this is relevant to you giving me updates on other club's "statements" then but ok :D

Luke was a little upset a few weeks ago when he believed that the club was not backing the manager because Jürgen wants him out.

I don't know the truth but then here is a question that comes up if what Luke said is/was true.

Do you make the club look strong by undermining the manager and making him stay or do you back the manager 100% no matter?

Don't know if there is a right or wrong answer....but it is a tough question.

I was mate, I just want to see Jürgen backed whichever way he chooses to be honest. I'm not so attached to Coutinho to believe that he must get what he wants in either a move or be pandered to when he comes back from pathetic back injury bullshit.

At the time of the press conferences it appeared to me that Jürgen was placing a lot of the decisions at FSGs feet and seemingly distancing himself from it. However, subsequently he has clarified his stance and it appears he is more in line with the "not for sale at any price" motto than it appeared to me.

No problem admitting I was probably wrong on this, it was a gut instinct and even at the time I said that I'd like Jürgen to clarify before I gave full judgement on it.

Whichever is the truth though I'll be delighted as long as he's backed 100%, that's all I would ever ask of any owner, not just FSG, much like your excellent post the other day that was bang on the money.

I want us to keep him 1 more season. Sell him when keita arrives ... but 3 things strike me ...

      1. No public statement from coutinho as was rumoured to be on its way.

      2. No new public bid from barca or constant skirt lifting in coutinhos direction recently.

      3. They dont seem to be throwing money at anybody else which would show maybe they have given up on him.

Its all gone abit quiet ... that makes me worry.

Have said all along no way should we sell Coutinho. Our best player. We're not a selling club. Players sign contracts, they should honour them unless mutually disolved. Get him back playing, get good performances, it'll be water on the bridge. etc. etc.

But over the weeks he HAS increasingly pissed me off, no doubt. More than any player I can recall, including Chewy when he had his Barca wobble. Now to play for Brazil?, you're f**king kidding! Still think all of the above though... except the water under the bridge bit. Which is a major pity.

If he has a cracker of a season, great, but can't see him here past next summer - it'll just serve to reinforce his price. If he has a ropey season, so be it, just get a little less.
FSG nailed their colours to the mast, very publicly, and can't really back down ... even if they wanted to.

Will be interesting to see how Jürgen reacts. I'd say he's the kind of guy who will NOT forget this, who wants players who will fully buy into the team, the work ethic, the plan. If he could properly replace Coutinho, I reckon he would just call it a day now - but the way the window has gone, weighing up all the pros & cons, he/we simply can't afford to let someone like Coutinho go. It wouldn't surprise me if he dicks him around a bit, doesn't start him, makes him squirm a bit, show him who's boss. And who could blame him. It's a sh*t sandwich, everyone should have to take a bite. But he's not a Sahko, we will need to get the best we can out of him, so he has to walk that line.

Overall, reckon not selling is the right thing to do. This summer. Reassess next.

If we sold him but got VVD Lemar and Renato in would you consider it a good window?

Same here mate, but he has to come back and take the flack that is gonna be fired at him, I suppose for the first time in his life, he will have to man up. He has been massively badly advised, by who ever, and he's just gone with it.  Very difficult situ for the lad, but deserves it

Yes but i'd consider it an excellent one with all of the above, Keita, keeping Coutinho...
