Cheaper, I think but also can fill the LCB roll. so we can give Virg a rest every now and again.

Thought he struggled first half and I was almost buying the idea he's past it. But he was really good second half, both defensively and going forward. Looked like his old self.

Both fullbacks had - ironically - a difficult start mostly because of the way we set up but once they adjusted both excellent. Robbo just got stronger and stronger as game went on.

Thought Robbo had a fine game

Hes a melter for crossing to nobody though

We should buy a target man just for Robbo to play with

Shame none of our forwards were able to get onto some quality balls played into the box by Robbo..

Both fullbacks had good games overall, gripes were robbo's final ball and wanted trent to offer an overlap for mo. The front 3 were off colour and midfield was okay, macca looked tired. Subs didn't have any impact. Roll onto sunday

Robbo put over some great balls last night ... nobody there to finish them. Trent put over a couple a great balls 2nd half as well.  Thought Trent was really growing into the game before he got injured ... and his influence on the match was starting to grow.

I thought our full backs did well last night at both ends. The problems were in midfield with no true no6 and being too open and not taking our chances early.

After last week, they didnt learn. 1-0 up and wide open in midfield, cut open in one pass in the first 15 minutes. You cant play like that against good teams sorry.

Robbo battled once again. Yea a couple of wayward crosses but to be honest, it's just good to see him getting to put those balls in again. Seems like forever since he's been able to really try and impact the game offensively. Can't help but think that maybe a slower summer may revitalize him a bit and maybe we seem more of the "old Robbo" next season. Definitely don't think we should entertain getting rid....would bring in another LB that can rotate/learn from him.

He's played far worse this season amd last.

Definitely not an issue last night apart from the odd moment that any player can have

      Was good last night.

Tbh I'd keep Robbo, get in a 2nd left back but just reduce the number of games Robbo plays and keep him fresh for some of the bigger games in the season when his experience is vital.

Exactly. He's still got a lot to offer but it's a bit much now expecting him to do it game in game out 3 times a week.

Doesn't need competition as such rather than someone to share the work load with.

That being said he's not got loads of years left in those legs I don't think.

Last night proved that, kept going and put over a few good crosses

Thought he did well last night

Replace Kostas with a new young LB to enable him to learn under Robbo

There will never be a question over his effort and last night he was decent on the ball, it's his defensive positioning where he gets into trouble,  a lack of spatial awareness starting to catch him out all too often, as he no longer has that pace/energy to get back.

Sometimes sits off too much and too deep as well which again is age catching up a little.

But again it's much more ideal than he becomes the guy playing 20 odd games a season and we buy a Kherkez or similar to take us forward

I think they'll go for hybrid LCB/LB type and keep Kostas too.

Lock that position down otherwise we are always one injury away from flogging the remaining full back 3 times a week.

It isn't my ideal scenario but look at the other side where an injury to Trent or Connor ends up injuring the other one.

Can’t see any reason to keep Kostas - if we need a back up then Beck can be given a go

      Yep.

We need to free a bit of space in the squad as DLS pointed out the other day.
