We need to free a bit of space in the squad as DLS pointed out the other day.

Well we've got Gomez at RCB who covers the right side and wouldn't mind a LCB who can cover the left side too.

It is an issue with the 23 man squad or whatever it is now I guess but my thinking with Kostas is he can do a job and can't be on a huge wedge in the grand scheme of things.

We'll either do that or bring in someone like Kherkez as an our and out LB and move Kostas on.

Don't know much about Beck so not able to comment on if he's a viable option

Yea wouldn't be against the idea if it worked with the squad numbers mate.

If he's as good as Maldini in his prime then all the better

We can't rely on Gomez for anything TBH..love him as a squad Player but just gets injured too often which keeps him on the sidelines for too long.

Exactly. He's still got a lot to offer but it's a bit much now expecting him to do it game in game out 3 times a week.

Doesn't need competition as such rather than someone to share the work load with.

That being said he's not got loads of years left in those legs I don't think.

This summarises the general consensus very well.

Robbo's contract expires in summer 26, I'd be happy to give him a 1 year extension. A new LB is essential this summer IMO to share the workload and compete with Robbo as the starter in the big games.

I think that the main question is, will we spend a bit more on a experienced, ready to go player like Kerkez? Or a younger player who needs time to develop like the Ajax lad? I think that will depend on the budget and how much we need to spend on other positions.

I think Tsimikas will leave. I like him and will be happy to see him celebrate a league title at Anfield but Gomez is probably ok as 3rd choice back up at LB (I know he's got a bad injury record and will also need to be an option at CB and RB).
