This. I just cannot fathom why we continue to be inactive in the transfer department when it was so apparent when just a couple of injuries last season put us in a stall.

You know full well that if the same thing happens again, Michael Edwards will be covering his gawky sorry ass by engaging in private email sessions with the owners in Boston, retrieving and manipulating statistics that blame such losses of form on the manager. It worked when it got Brendan Rodgers sacked and you can bet that c**t will do it with Jürgen.

      Was Edwards involved with Rodgers?

Agreed. Two wonderful passes set it up. The importance of that first touch though....

While using numbers to back up decisions is a rational thing to do, sometimes we should just get rid of those F***ing stats. Because past performance is no guarantee for future performance.

Woodburn made that look easy and it wasn't. He took 3 defenders out in a flash and what a shot... Power and accuracy. Woodburn and Solanke truely are brilliant.

As good as Kent looks in flashes I can't help but think he's a Championship player at best, he's not as far on as Woodburn or Solanke and he's 2/3 years older. Good, hard working lad but don't see a future for him at the club unfortunately. Maybe I'm being too harsh though

Gomez takes to many chances. We need CB help NOW because this project might get us burned if we try it in games that matter.

If Robertson doesn't start in front of Milner I won't know what to think.

Same. Milner hasn't looked good at LB or MF this preseason

Don't have a problem with stats and they should be encouraged in football but as we all know they can be manipulated and in Edwards case, manipulated to protect his own job when it came to Rodgers eventual sacking. That's not to say Rodgers was at fault but it's clear that when Rodgers went, Edwards and Fallows etc should have gone with him.

The good thing is that, if it came to an impasse between Klopp and Edwards in the same way it did between Rodgers and Edwards, I think the owners would be much more receptive to Klopp than they were to Rodgers given his higher and more respected reputation. I'd back the big man against that little bespectacled c**t any day.

Could Klopp be testing Gini in the #6 role? Or just using him to anchor the youngsters?

He tries his best but I find it hard to argue against this. It's so obvious that he is a level below the rest of those on that pitch.

Solanke seems to be what we had wanted big Andy to be a few years ago.

Lovely ball Klavan - Gerrard would have been proud of that one.

      Solanke - perfect.

Get working on those crosses lads - this man is beastly in the air (and on the ground!)
