Me too. Mind you in my case it's a creeping demise that's been going on for a while now.

Every time I see something like this, I feel myself drift just a little further away from football.
Spot on, boys.
Every day the gloom deepens. The cobblers "But that's football today" doesn't do it for me anymore. Players who play when it suits them, not being able to get a match day ticket unless you've been to many previous games, waiting on the possibility of a player going on strike (so we can sign him). Crap sponsors like WU and Dunkin feckin Donuts!!! I ask you, wtf is that all about? I cring every time I see the advert at the side of the pitch...The sh1t never ends.
Without sounding like an old fart (which I am), I can remember watching a game against Leeds in the early 70's with 53,000+ packed in, back to the wall up the Anfield Rd end and paying on the day! Full throttle Footie. We lost. Chips n gravy after. Wet Wednesday v West Ham at Upton Park, Keegan, Toshack, Heighway etc, standing in amongst the cockanees with me dad, giving as good as we got. We won. FA Cup final v Newcastle. We won.
I get that things change, but I do miss what it all seemed to be about..... us (the fans) and them (the team) all in it together. Piss on the terraces, scabby pies, floodlights that didn't work.... them were the days. Think I've been spoiled, but corporate blandness and greed is stifling the heart out of any enjoyment that's left. And we suck it up. Nurse, nurse....where's me tablets?
